(Day 759) Swords of Iron – “Iraq Next?“

Chaim starts by saying things are not really calming down right now, despite the “ceasefire” in Gaza. There are reports that Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps is arming and training the Badr Brigades and other Shi’ite militias in Iraq for a move against Israel in the future, and they’re also continuing to arm and fund Hezbollah in Lebanon, although not with the same level of support they’re giving to the Iraqi militias.

Chaim says that if Iran wants to keep attacking Israel, Israel will keep defending itself.

Speaking of which, this week for the first time, the Prime Minister’s Office expressed support for the idea of giving death sentences to convicted terrorists. Chaim asks his viewers to comment on this proposal.

In the meantime, there’s another controversy in Israel this week because the IDF’s Judge Advocate General resigned after approving the leak of a video which appears to show IDF personnel abusing security prisoners. It’s given Israel yet another big black eye in public relations and now the case surrounding the JAG is causing more public relations issues.

Meanwhile, the US has formally submitted a proposal to the UN Security Council to form an international force to govern the Gaza Strip after Hamas is disbanded. This would include disarming what’s left of Hamas, demolishing the tunnels and many other steps.

Chaim says he’s got a lot of questions about how it would all work, but he’s glad to see there’s a proposal on the table.

Gaza needs to be demilitarized, and this is the only plan on the table to try and do that, so with all the flaws and questions, it’s gonna have to be the plan we follow going forward.

Meanwhile, Chaim says that while the whole world continues to blame Israel for the war which Hamas strarted, Israel is continuing to innovate and give gifts to the world. The latest is a chip that has vast computational power that is small enough to fit on the tip of a finger. Chaim says Israel continues to bless the world, despite the world’s hostility and the wars that are being waged against it in the military, political, diplomatic, economic and spiritual realms.

Chaim concludes by citing Genesis 12 and says that when God promised this Land to the Jewish People and said that through them the whole world would be blessed, He knew what He was doing.
