Chaim starts out the video announcing that it’s his 400th day in the IDF reserves and the 400th daily Aliyah Return Center video he’s posted. He also says that it’s the anniversery of Kristalnacht, the massive anti-Semitic pogrom in Germany which marked the beginning of the Holocaust.
He says that it’s deeply troubling to watch the anti-Semitic pogrom that just happened in Amsterdam on Thursday evening, where thousands of Israeli soccer fans were violently attacked as they left the stadium where the game between Macabbi Tel Aviv played Ajax.
Chaim says that the world is approaching a tipping point where we’ll see if this kind of darkness is going to dominate or if truth and light will once again shine forth.
US President Joe Biden gave a strong statement condemning the attacks while President-elect Donald Trump in which he said the best way to push back against this darkness was by winning a “decisive victory” over Hamas, Hezbollah and all the other tentacles of the Iranian octopus.
But the Dutch authorities have begun to react, issuing statements of condemnation for what happened. The Aliyah Return Center Netherlands branch also issued a statement of condemnation as well, along with other agencies of the Dutch government and civil society.
But Chaim says it’s really important to remember what happened on the first Kristalnacht and compare it to what is happening today in Europe. So Chaim asks his viewers to be part of the rejection of evil and anti-Semitism all over the world and in this context, he quotes Isaiah 41:10-13; Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.’ Thou shalt seek them, and shalt not find them, even them that contended with thee: they that war against thee shall be as nothing, and as a thing of nought. For I the Lord thy God will hold thy right hand, saying unto thee, Fear not; I will help thee.
