(Day 565) Swords of Iron – “Houthis Missile Attack Northern Israel”

Chaim starts by saying that it’s Holocaust Memorial Day coming up and there’s bad things still happening in Israel, including a ballistic missile attack from the Houthis in Yemen. This time it was aimed at the Haifa area, which is something new, but communities all over the northern part of the country heard the air raid sirens and had to run to the shelters.

Chaim also talks about the “global day of rage” being pushed by anti-Israel forces and a shark attack against swimmers near the beach off Bat Yam, just south of Tel Aviv. It’s only the third time this has happened since 1948 and people just didn’t know how to react.

Chaim also talks about terror attacks in India and anti-Israel rhetoric at a popular music festival in Coachella by an Irish band called “Kneecap.”

Chaim refutes the accusations made by this band, which seemingly came out of nowhere in the middle of a concert.

Chaim then switches to talking about how he’s proud to be serving in the IDF combat engineering corps, where new technology is being used including barriers and bomb-sniffing robots, which he says he knows it’s scary to have robots on the battlefield, but they’re actually making this very difficult and dangerous but very necassary job safer for soldiers.

Chaim also talks about the latest Hamas proposal for a cease-fire, which essentially adds up to Israel unilaterally surrendering and agreeing to lose the war and allowing Hamas to recover, re-arm and try again someday. Chaim says this proposal should be rejected.

Next he talks about the release of a large trove of previously classified documents related to the investigation into the assassination of Robert F. Kennedy in 1968. A Palestinian man named Sirhan Sirhan carried out that assassination, saying he did it because he didn’t like the support that the Kennedy family and America in general gave to Israel.

Chaim concludes by circling back to Holocaust Remembrance Day, rhetorically asking where the modern-day heroes are. In this context, he quotes Judges 5:20; They fought from the heavens; The stars from their courses fought against Sisera. The torrent of Kishon swept them away, that ancient torrent, the torrent of Kishon. O my soul, march on in strength!
