(Day 628) Swords of Iron – “Lasting cease-fire? And fallen heroes”

Chaim starts out by mentioning that “just like that” the ballistic missile attacks from Iran have stopped, leaving Iran in terrible shape following 12 days of relentless attacks by the Israeli Air Force and the Mossad that shredded their high command, nuclear scientists, ballistic missile launchers and manufacturing capacity, air defense network, what’s left of their air force and many other strategic assets.

Chaim adds that the “cherry on top” of all this was the US Air Force attacks on Iran’s nuclear facilities at Fordow, Natanz and Isfahan. Although the US attack used 14 GBU-57 Massive Ordnance Penetrator bombs and a barrage of 30 submarine-launched Tomahawk cruise missiles to do immense physical damage to these sites, it is unclear how much the Iranian nuclear weapons program was set back. However, even if it was only a few months, there is now time for regime change in Iran, which is the only real, long-term solution to the problems posed by Iran.

However, for now there is a fragile cease-fire that Iran needed much more than Israel did. The International Atomic Energy Agency has confirmed that around 400 pounds of uranium that had been enriched to 60% purity has gone missing, and that’s a problem. But in any case, the enrichment facilities and other nuclear infrastructure that was built up till now have suffered immense damage.

Chaim also mentions the seven soldiers from the IDF Combat Engineering Corps who were killed in action this week, and he says it’s kind of personnel for him because they were from the same unit he’s part of. But although this is sad for the IDF, it’s not going to stop them from accomplishing their mission and pushing Hamas back, along with Hezbollah, the Houthis, and everyone else who threatens the Jewish State.

In this context, Chaim quotes Jeremiah 31:10; Hear the word of the Lord, you nations, and declare it in the coastlands far away, and say, “He who scattered Israel will gather him, and He will keep him as a shepherd keeps his flock.”

Chaim says this verse is one of many which repudiates the false narrative that the ancient Israel mentioned in the Bible is not connected to the modern State of Israel.
