(Day 643) Swords of Iron – “A way Forward”

Chaim starts by talking about how he has been in the IDF for 20 years, fighting in several wars on different fronts, and in all that time many different terrorist groups were trying their best to kill him and his comrades, but those attempts all failed.

But some of their attempts at killing other IDF soldiers have succeeded, and Chaim says that the kind of guerrilla warfare the IDF is now facing in Khan Yunis and other Gaza cities is very difficult and dangerous. He compares it to guerrilla wars in other countrie,s including Colombia, where the regular army forces had a very tough time.

Israeli civilians are also under threat, and we got a reminder of that in recent days as a knife attack unfolded at a supermarket in Gush Etzion, just south of Jerusalem. This attack left one Israeli man dead and another wounded, while both attackers were neutralized at the scene by security forces.

Chaim says this shows that we all have to stay alert at all times.

He also mentions the actions taken by IDF commandos in southern Lebanon to push back against the nascent threat from Hezbollah. Chaim says he was in this area called Jab al-Blat and he is amazed that Hezbollah has managed to rebuild some of the terror infrastructure in these areas, months after Chaim and his comrades were there and demolished much of it.

Chaim adds that both Israel and the EU have increased the amount of aid being sent into the Gaza Strip, and in this context, he also mentions the possibility that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and US President Donald Trump were negotiating a “two-state solution” during their recent meetings at the White House.

Chaim says that Hamas has rejected this idea over and over again, and it’s a mistake to even be bringing it back up again. But he says many world leaders ARE talking as if this is an idea worth resurrecting,

Chaim says he does not believe this will move forward, and in this context he quotes Obadiah 1:17;But on Mount Zion there shall be deliverance, and there shall be holiness; the house of Jacob shall possess their possessions.”
