(Day 672) Swords of Iron – “Israel to control all of Gaza”
Chaim starts by saying that he is filming from Eilat, Israel’s Red Sea resort city at the southernmost tip of the city. He says it’s very hot, which is why he loves to hear the cool voices of reason, such as US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, who said this week that there will be no peace until Hamas is disbanded. He’s got the right idea, and he’s putting the blame for all the problems in the right place, and Chaim can’t understand why more people don’t see things so clearly.
For instance, the British are coming close to their own deadline for recognizing a Palestinian State, which could lead to a severing of security and intelligence sharing between Israel and the UK. The UK badly needs Israeli intelligence cooperation to track the threat of terrorism in their own country, and there are many other countries in Europe who have a similar situation, and some who said they’re considering the possibility of recognizing a Palestinian State are reconsidering for this reason.
Chaim then points out the interview Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu did with Fox News in which he said that Israel is done playing games, we’re gonna take control of the entire Gaza Strip but we don’t want to keep it. We’ll set up a security perimeter but then turn over control to whoever is will to take administrative control.
But nonetheless, many European governments are repeating the mistake they made when they forbade Israel from taking control of Rafah earlier in the war. They are saying they condemn Israel’s intention to take control of Gaza City, using some very bizarre language to do it, and Germany is even freezing exports to Israel of defense equipment. Chaim says they are being very foolish, emboldening terrorist organizations globally, including the ones which operate in Europe.
In this context, Chaim quotes Psalms 132:13-14; For the Lord has chosen Zion; He has desired it for His dwelling place: “This is My resting place forever; Here I will dwell, for I have desired it.
Chaim says we all need to make our peace with God’s plans for Israel.
