(Day 691) Swords of Iron – “Down to the wire”
Chaim starts by saying that Gaza City MUST be evacuated, and he reminds his viewers of how not long ago, there was a global campaign to convince everyone that it was not possible to evacuate Rafah without a humanitarian disaster ensuing, but in the end, the city was evacuated and there was no disaster. Chaim says this same thing can happen again, and those who are saying once again that it’ll result in a humanitarian disaster should remember this as well.
Furthermore, Gaza City is the last stronghold of Hamas, and eliminating all the terrorist infrastructure above and below ground is imperative.
At the same time, US President Donald Trump says that he wants to personally supervise the talks over bringing this war to an end, which means Hamas WILL be disarmed and the threat to Israel posed by Hamas WILL be eliminated.
The US position, and the Israeli position, is that there will be no more “partial agreements” whereby some hostages get released in exchange for a short-term ceasefire which will give Hamas time to regroup, reorganize, and get ready for resumed hostilities, while the remaining hostages starve to death in the tunnels.
Chaim brings up the subject, which should be talked about a lot more, of what the jihadist groups all over the world are going to take away from this war in Gaza. What will they learn and what will they remember?
Deterrence against these jihadists can be lost very easily, and they will think it’s time for them to throw off all constraints if they think they can get away with it.
Chaim also mentions that his wife is thinking about writing a book about all the miracles that have happened in this war.
There have been many miracles, many of which are difficult to explain from a technical point of view (e.g, grenades thrown at IDF troops that don’t explode, the engines of IDF aircraft not needing maintenance despite heavy usage, etc.) and Chaim says despite the fatigue that many are feeling, we remember why we’re doing this and Who is watching over us.
In this context, Chaim quotes Isaiah 43:2; When you pass through the waters, I will be with you;
And through the rivers, they shall not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned, nor shall the flame scorch you.
