(Day 693) Swords of Iron – “Things Are Shifting”
Chaim starts by telling his viewers that Israel is a beautiful country with lots of cultural diversity, and as prood, he lets them hear the Muezzin, the Moslem prayer leader, calling the faithful to prayer in Jaffa, from where Chaim is filming.
He then says that he was recently in Lebanon and he saw with his own eyes, tunnels and other military infrastructure that was built by Hezbollah within sight of positions manned by UN Peacekeepers. These UN peacekeepers were part of the UN Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL), which has been wasting money and time and utterly failing to carry out its mandate for decades now. But this will soon end, as the UN has decided to terminate UNIFIL next year, and Israel as very happy about that.
Next Chaim mentions the Israeli attack on the Houthis in Yemen over the weekend, which probably eliminated all their senior leadership. Chaim says he hopes they learned their lesson and they won’t be attacking Israel again.
In the meantime, Chaim says he is encouraged by the large crowd of Ultra-Orthodox Jews who came to the Western Wall over the weekend to pray for victory in this war, for the liberation of the hostages, and for unity in Israel. Chaim says that many of these people don’t want to serve in the IDF, and that can’t continue, but he also says that he hopes this is a positive step towards national unity.
Chaim also mentions that Israel has recently recognized the Armenian genocide, carried out by the Ottoman Turks in 1915-16. The Turks are not happy about that, but they have only themselves to blame. Chaim adds that it is utterly absurd for Israel to be accused of genocide when so many ACTUAL genocides are taking place and have taken place literally all over the world, and no one was ever held responsible for any of it.
Chaim asks his viewers to pray for unity in Israel and for victory for the IDF, and in this context he concludes by quoting Psalms 37:10; For yet a little while and the wicked shall be no more; Indeed, you will look carefully for his place, but it shall be no more.
