(Day 730) Swords of Iron – “Two Years”
Chaim starts by saying that it’s been a great privilege for him to be mobilized in his IDF reserve unit, to serve with the elite Yahalom Combat Engineers for Special Missions, demolishing Hamas tunnels and doing various other specialized tasks that the regular units aren’t trained to do. He is also the CEO of the Aliyah Return Center and the Faithful Galileans, two non-profits that work to help new immigrants to Israel as well as fight the information battles.
Every day he’s been mobalized, and it’s now almost two full years, he has posted videos talking about his experiences, what he’s seeing in his unit, his community and the wider Israeli society.
Throughout all the trials, tribulations, difficulties and problems, he has tried to stay faithful to what God has called him to do, and he has tried to help Israel stay true to her calling, which these difficult times were always going to be part of.
He says that in this season of history, the entire human race is “on a collision course with Jerusalem” and with the God who put His name in that city. Every single man, woman and child needs to figure out what they are going to do about God’s plans and purposes for this world.
Jerusalem is at the epicenter of all those plans and purposes, and no one can avoid it.
At the same time, Chaim says that it’s been an absolutely miserable experience fighting this war. There is no glory in it, only pain, suffering, grieving the loss of friends, the loss of time with family, the loss of income from being away from work, and so on. Thousands of Israeli married couples have gotten divorced in the last two years because of the strain of long separations while husbands were in the reserves.
However, Chaim wants to remind everyone that God Himself is fighting for Israel and He neither slumbers nor sleeps. Chaim has personally witnessed several miracles in this war, big and small, which proves to him that God is with Israel and that Israel is on the right track.
In this context, he quotes Psalms 2; Why do the [a]nations rage, and the people plot a vain thing? The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the Lord and against His Anointed, saying, “Let us break Their bonds in pieces
and cast away Their cords from us.” He who sits in the heavens shall laugh; the Lord shall hold them in derision. Then He shall speak to them in His wrath, and distress them in His deep displeasure: “Yet I have set My King on My holy hill of Zion.”
“I will declare the decree: The Lord has said to Me, ‘You are My Son, today I have begotten You. Ask of Me, and I will give You the nations for Your inheritance, and the ends of the earth for Your possession. You shall [h]break them with a rod of iron; You shall dash them to pieces like a potter’s vessel.’ ” Now therefore, be wise, O kings; Be instructed, you judges of the earth. Serve the Lord with fear, and rejoice with trembling. Kiss the Son, lest He be angry, and you perish in the way, when His wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed are all those who put their trust in Him.
Chaim says this makes it obvious, to those with spiritual discernment, that this is a spiritual war as much as it is a physical one. He talks about other miracles that have occurred during this war, allowing Israel to push back all the enemies on all the fronts. Israelis are beginning to wake up to the reality that they are hanging on only by God’s grace and mercy.
In this context, Chaim reminds his viewers of the prophecies from Zechariah and Ezekiel about the future in which all nations will come against Israel and Jerusalem, but for now, it’s a time of grace and Chaim advises people to not worry about “when” armageddon will happen, but what side of things they and their families will be on.
On that note, he says that anyone engaged in this battle needs to be covered; they need to be part of a team that watches each other and watches OUT for each other. Two years of fighting this war has brought this lesson home to him more than anything else ever has.
Another lesson we need to draw from what we’re seeing right now is that there are many who will be deceived in these Last Days, and we need to make sure we’re not one of them. Chaim talks about some of the more silly deceptions, such as that the Jewish People living in Israel today are not the “Israel” of the Bible, and so on.
But Chaim urges his viewers to be part of a team that approaches the Throne of God’s mercy reverently and fearfully, but also expectantly, because God’s plans and purposes ARE going forward and the season of Grace is drawing to a close, and the season of threshing is coming.
He says that what people do in this mortal life will have consequences in Eternity, and we always need to keep that in mind. That’s what HE is keeping in mind as he fights this war, and as he leads the Aliyah Return Center and the Faithful Galilleans. He briefly tells the story of how his family made Aliyah and how he has struggled mightily to stay in Israel and live his life here, but he’s always known God was in it, and that made it easier. He also believes that America, and President Trump in particular, are like King Cyrus in the Bible, paving the way for the Jewish return to the Land of Israel.
Meanwhile, the Aliyah Return Center is trying to do its part to make that plan work.
And the need is great, because there are more and more Jewish people coming home to the Land of Israel. In this context, Chaim quotes Isaiah 49:22; Thus says the Lord God: “Behold, I will lift My hand in an oath to the nations, and set up My standard for the peoples; They shall bring your sons in their arms, and your daughters shall be carried on their shoulders;
Chaim says that every one of us has a part to play in that plan, and he urges his viewers to figure out what part they are meant to play and lean into it.
He concludes by encouraging his viewers to visit his website, Chaimmalespin.com and see what’s going on in all these different organizations.
At the same time, Chaim says that it’s time to step into our prophetic destiny, and step up to do the work God has called us to do. We have to lay aside anything that’s holding us back or slowing us down. We need to get into the Word and BELIEVE what we read i the Bible.
Chaim says the Enemy is trying to trick people and distract them from their destiny, and he urges his viewers not to allow the Enemy to trick them.
