(Day 741) Swords of Iron – “Something is brewing”

Chaim starts by saying that the kinetic battle in Gaza might be over for now, but these are still difficult times. The Israelis feel like they’re worn down to the bone marrow and in Lebanon, Hezbollah seems to be gearing up for another round of fighting. The IDF is striking them pre-emptively to try and disrupt these plans and having a great deal of success, but Iran is relentlessly moving weapons, terrorists and money into Lebanon so that Hezbollah can continue with it’s plans. It’s a race to see how long Israel can continue destroying Hezbollah and how long Iran will continue trying to prop it up.

Meanwhile, back in Gaza, a few countries have expressed interest in sending troops there to be a stabalization force, but it’s very difficult to get firm commitments. There is unexploded ordnance everywhere, along with Hamas, which is going on a rampage of death by executing dozens of Palestinians which it says “collaborated” with Israel during the war. Chaim asks the question many others are asking, about where all the protesters who said they cared so much about Gazans during the war are now, when it’s Hamas that’s slaughtering Palestinians, shooting people in the back of the head, etc. Where are all those hypocrites who said they were against violence and “genocide” now that Hamas is doing what it’s doing, and filming it for the whole world to see.

Meanwhile, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and others are warning President Trump that they will withdraw their support for the plan if Hamas is not disarmed and disbanded. It’s also becoming obvious that Qatar is playing both sides of this thing and have been all along, and they’re the ones who are empowering Hamas and financing them.

However, Chaim says he’s still happy about the release of the hostages, although he acknowledges that some are still in Gaza, in the form of remains of people who were murdered in captivity.

Amidst all of these conflicting feelings and the rush of current events, Chaim also feels like there’s something going on behind the scenes. Turkey says it wants to get into Gaza ASAP with heavy equipment and start rebuilding the infrastructure, although there are estimates that it could cost as much as $70 billion. Also, Israel is saying that before we can start rebuilding, we still need to demolish the network of tunnels Hamas built underneath all the cities.

Chaim sums it all up by saying he doesn’t know how much longer he’ll be wearing the uniform and continuing to demolish tunnels, either in Gaza or in Lebanon, but he also wants to forge ahead with work on bringing therapeutic treatments to soldiers who need help. There are a few different options he’s looking into and in this context he quotes Isaiah 40:1-2; “Comfort, yes, comfort My people!” Says your God. “Speak comfort to Jerusalem, and cry out to her,

that her warfare is ended, that her iniquity is pardoned; For she has received from the Lord’s hand double for all her sins.”
