(Day 767) Swords of Iron – “Jolani of Syria in the White House, As Iran Doubles Down”

Chaim starts by talking about his encounters with American soldiers who have fought against ISIS, Al Qaeda and other terrorist groups and he says there’s a lot he feels like he has in common with them. Like himself, these soldiers understand that freedom, one’s homeland and family are things that must be fought for or they’ll be lost.

He adds that the terrorist infrastructure in Lebanon, Gaza, Syria and elsewhere on Israel’s borders and in the further but still near abroad must be dismantled so it cannot pose a threat to Israel’s future.

Speaking of threats to the future, Syrian interim President Abu Muhammed Al Jolani was a guest at the White House this week, and he said he will not enter into negotiations with Israel until the IDF withdraws from all the territory of Syria, including the Golan Heights which Al-Jolani said Israel has “occupied since 1967” and he says he hopes President Trump can help convince Israel to negotiate about this. Chaim says that the Golan Heights were not “occupied” by Israel they were “liberated” by Israel and Israel has no plans or intentions to withdraw from these areas because it would be a mortal danger to the Galilee region if we did.

The treatment of the Druze community in southern Syria by forces allied with the Al-Jolani regime is all the proof Israel needs that this is not a regime that can be trusted. This would be the case even if Al-Jolani was not one of the people who “helped put the “S” in “ISIS” because Syria was part of the territory ISIS tried to take over and he was part of that.

However, Chaim also reminds himself that he’s got a job in front of him, to destroy the last of the Hamas tunnels. At the same time, he’s following the IDF’s internal inquiries about the failures of October 7th, as well as the Knesset’s approval of the death penelty for terrorists.

In this context, Chaim quotes I Samuel 17:45: Then David said to the Philistine, “You come to me with a sword, with a spear, and with a javelin. But I come to you in the name of the Lord of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied.

Chaim concludes by saying that Iran, Hezbollah and all the other enemies of Israel need to worry about the IDF response but they should pay even more attention to what is said in this verse.
