(Day 836) Swords of Iron – “A time to Speak”

These jihadists are at it again. When they’re not killing the Druze—our friends—they’re targeting the Kurds. Syrian regime forces crossed the Euphrates under cover of night and launched a full-scale assault on SDF territory in Deir ez-Zor. There is intense fighting between the Kurds and al-Jolani’s men. These are jihadists, and they are attacking Kurds across the region.

The Kurds are stateless people around the world, and they are frustrated and angry. At the same time, Ayal Zamir of Israel’s military has placed forces on heightened readiness to confront multiple threats simultaneously. He has said that if what appears to be coming does happen, we must be ready on all fronts. That’s exactly what we’re doing right now.

I feel compelled to read from the book of Ecclesiastes, chapter 3:

For everything there is a season,

and a purpose under heaven.

A time to be born and a time to die.

A time to plant and a time to pluck up what is planted.

A time to kill and a time to heal.

A time to break down and a time to build up.

A time to weep and a time to laugh.

A time to mourn and a time to dance.

A time to cast away stones and a time to gather stones together.

A time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing.

A time to seek and a time to lose.

A time to keep and a time to cast away.

A time to tear and a time to sew.

A time to keep silence and a time to speak.

I believe this is the time to speak. It goes on, but now is the moment to speak out and say, “Enough is enough.” In the face of all this terror, we choose to stand together, unified.

There are many who speak wrongly and have large followings—cowards who speak out, even Jews who hate Jews. Yes, there are Jews who hate Israel. There is the woke left, people like Greta Thunberg. There are ignorant voices in Hollywood engaging in virtue signaling. There are government leaders who are either deceived or chasing popularity while pushing the wrong agenda. And there are those completely deceived by the false and evil ideology of jihadism.

It’s time to make our voices heard together.
The time to speak has come.
