Day 446 Swords of Iron – “Modern Maccabees”

Chaim starts by greetings his viewers from Rafiyah, where he and his team are continuing to search for the remaining Israeli hostages. He then starts to talk about a new tactic Hamas has tried, telling Arab residents of Jerusalem to commit acts of violence against their Jewish neighbors to distract attention from their own failures and defeat.

Chaim questions why they would do that, and he mentions that sometimes you’ll see videos of Arabs in Israel celebrating when rockets from Hamas and Hezbollah hit their own towns and villages. Chaim speculates that these people might feel a need to show solidarity with the Pan-Islamic cause.

But, he reminds everyone that the IDF will continue to stand in defense of civilization against these barbarians.

On that note, he mentions that the Iranian-backed Houthis in Yemen launched yet another ballistic missile attack the previous evening, sending millions of Israelis into bomb shelters. Magen David Adom also treated about 25 people for injuries they sustained while running to the shelters.

He then shows some footage of driving past the massive piles of food and other humanitarian aid supplies that have been sent into the Gaza Strip, and he says that most of it simply gets stolen by Hamas and other looters. There is no organized infrastructure for distributing this aid inside the Strip.

Next there is a brief scene of IDF soldiers thanking the Aliyah Return Center for the gifts of beef jerkey that were sent to them. The video concludes with a scene of IDF soldiers in Lebanon reciting Hanukkah prayers.

(Day 734) Swords of Iron – The hostages are coming home!

Chaim starts by saying that he’s in Jerusalem (wearing civilian clothes) and he is so excited because the deal to release the remaining Israeli hostages held in Gaza has been signed and finalized. The hostages will be able to celebrate at least the last day or maybe two days of Succot, the Feast of Tabernacles.

(Day 731) Swords of Iron – “Where are the hostages?”

Chaim starts by talking about how he’s been mobilized in this war for two years, which is 10% of his adult life, and he’s seen and participated in many of the war’s most well-known campaigns. However, now is a special time because it is the Feast of Tabernacles and it’s time for the people of Israel to build temporary, flimsy structures to remind ourselves of the Exodus from Egypt when God watched over us and protected and provided for us despite the desperately insecure situation we were in.
