Day 461 Swords of Iron – “Heavy Price Of Freedom”

Chaim starts the video by giving a shoutout to the people enduring a terrible tragedy in Los Angeles, California, as thousands of homes, businesses, schools and other buildings in that city have been burned up in raging fires.

He also says that Israelis are having yet another moment of closure mixed with anguish as the remains of Youssef al-Zayadni and his son Hamza, both kidnapped into Gaza on October 7th, 2023 and held hostage ever since, were found in Gaza. Apparently they were murdered in captivity, but Chaim says the remains of some of their captors who were also killed on the scene were also found nearby, raising questions about what exactly happened.

Chaim also mentions that the number of IDF soldiers killed in action in this war is now up to 833, and every time he hears about another casualty he worries that it’s a friend of his. In this context, he quotes John 15:13, Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends.

He also says that he takes comfort from the Aliyah prophecies, and he says he believes they apply to the hostages coming home as well as those in the Diaspora.

(Day 734) Swords of Iron – The hostages are coming home!

Chaim starts by saying that he’s in Jerusalem (wearing civilian clothes) and he is so excited because the deal to release the remaining Israeli hostages held in Gaza has been signed and finalized. The hostages will be able to celebrate at least the last day or maybe two days of Succot, the Feast of Tabernacles.

(Day 731) Swords of Iron – “Where are the hostages?”

Chaim starts by talking about how he’s been mobilized in this war for two years, which is 10% of his adult life, and he’s seen and participated in many of the war’s most well-known campaigns. However, now is a special time because it is the Feast of Tabernacles and it’s time for the people of Israel to build temporary, flimsy structures to remind ourselves of the Exodus from Egypt when God watched over us and protected and provided for us despite the desperately insecure situation we were in.
