Are You Making Aliyah?

(Day 509) Swords of Iron – “Burying Family”

Chaim starts by talking about how the entire nation of Israel watched the funeral of Shiri Bibas and her sons Ariel and Kfir, who were murdered in cold blood after being kidnapped into the Gaza Strip on October 7th, 2023.

The scene then shifts to the funeral and the eulogy speech given by Yarden Bibas for his wife and children.

Chaim says this is an example of the courage and trauma that is being felt and expressed by the whole country right now, especially Kibbutz Nir Oz, which was hit the hardest on October 7th, losing nearly 25% of its population either murdered of kidnapped.

Chaim says what’s also emerged from this is that Hamas can’t be allowed to remain in Gaza. Some regional governments are trying to find a way to allow them to stay there, but Israel has made it clear this isn’t possible. Chaim also mentions a large terrorist attack that Hamas attempted to launch out of Judea and Samaria was just thwarted.

Chaim also mentions the death of the world’s oldest known Holocaust survivor, Rose Giron, who died at 113 years old this week.

Chaim also mentions that he’s glad Israel has finally convinced the mediators to convince Hamas to not have any more grotesque displays at the release of hostages, and he says that he doesn’t think the US should allow Qatar to buy influence at American universities.

Next he mentions that the IDF is continuing to stand guard in southern Syria even as the al-Golani regime, which is essentially a franchise of Al Qaida, continues to gather strength and act erratically.

Chaim concludes by quoting Zepheniah 2:4-7; For Gaza shall be forsaken, and Ashkelon desolate;  They shall drive out Ashdod at noonday, and Ekron shall be uprooted.

Woe to the inhabitants of the seacoast, the nation of the Cherethites! The word of the Lord is against you, O Canaan, land of the Philistines: “I will destroy you; So there shall be no inhabitant.”

The seacoast shall be pastures, with shelters for shepherds and folds for flocks. The coast shall be for the remnant of the house of Judah; They shall feed their flocks there; In the houses of Ashkelon they shall lie down at evening. For the Lord their God will intervene for them, And return their captives.
