(Day 562) Swords of Iron – “Fell in the line of duty”

Chaim starts by saying it’s always tragic when the IDF suffers casualties, and he honors Warrant Officer G’haleb Sliman Alnasasra, 35, of Rahat, who was killed in action over the weekend. Several other soldiers were wounded in the attack, which occurred in an area that was believed to have been cleared of hostile actors, but Hamas had a tunnel that had not been demolished yet and some Hamas guys popped up out of that tunnel and fired an RPG at an IDF vehicle and then later as a rescue vehicle was headed towards the scene Hamas detonated an IED and inflicted more casualties.

Chaim says this is a reminder that IDF soldiers can’t let their guard down and they must continue finding and demolishing tunnels and other terrorist infrastructure. He also says that it’s similar up in Lebanon, where a lot of Hezbollah’s infrastructure has already been demolished, but there is still a threat from southern Lebanon.

But the leaders of Hezbollah and Hamas still think they haven’t been beaten and they’re still talking tough, like they want to keep fighting. Iran is also refusing to aknowledge the reality that they’re in over their heads, and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu says that Israel won’t back down but will continue to press into the battle until all the enemies have been completely defeated.

The US appears to be wavering in negotiations with Iran, and Israel might have to attack the Islamic Republic’s nuclear facilities alone.

While all of this is going on, Hamas keeps losing ground and keeps refusing to change their approach. Chaim advises them to wise up and stop digging themselves deeper and deeper into a hole.

In this context, he quotes Isaiah 29:5; “Moreover the multitude of your foes shall be like fine dust, and the multitude of the terrible ones like chaff that passes away; yes, it shall be in an instant, suddenly.”

He concludes by asking supporters to donate to the Aliyah Return Center’s efforts to get IDF soldiers the equipment they need.
