Chaim starts by asking a rhetorical question about what happens to people who come against God’s People. Then he starts talking about the massive explosion and fires at the port in the southern Iranian city of Bandar Abbas on Saturday. Dozens of people were killed and many hundreds were injured in this incident. The Iranian authorities have said they’re not sure what caused the fires that detonated the sodium percholate which was being stored at the port. This substance is used in the solid fuel that is required to propel ballistic missiles and Iran has imported large quantities of it from China in recent months. Apparently it was stored at the port and somehow or other, it exploded, doing immense damage and also starting fires which did even more damage. The port, the most important port in Iran, used for civilian cargo, oil exports, and the Iranian Navy, was severely damaged and the adjascent city of Bandar Abbas also sustained damage.
This port was also used by Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps to supply Hezbollah, the Houthis in Yemen, Hamas and others. This will make it much more difficult to continue this support.
The Houthis aren’t done trying to hit Israel though. Just on Sunday they fired a ballistic missile at Beer Sheva but it was intercepted outside Israeli air space.
At the same time, Israel is continuing to hit Hezbollah and Hamas and Chaim says it’s a very bad idea for Israel to agree to Hamas’ terms for ending the war with them still in control of Gaza, even if they do release all the remaining hostages.
Getting back to Iran for a moment, Chaim says that President Trump insists he is not stopping Israel from attacking, but he does want to give negotiations a serious chance. Chaim thinks he will quickly realize how pointless this is and then an attack will happen. But in the meantime, Israel is deepening its ties to the Druze of Syria, allowing them to come visit their holy places in the Galilee for the first time since the 1948 Independance War.
Chaim also makes a comparison between the anti-Israel demonstrators on US university campuses, chanting their support for Hamas, and ordinary Gazan residents who are marching in increasing numbers and with increasing boldness against Hamas.
He concludes by saying now is the time to stay strong, and in this context he quotes Exodus 23:27; “I will send My fear before you, I will cause confusion among all the people to whom you come, and will make all your enemies turn their backs to you.”
