(Day 585) Swords of Iron – “They don’t want to learn their lesson”

Chaim starts by saying he believes we’re living in a time of miracles and he cites the example of a ballistic missile fired from Yemen at Israel that broke up in midair with the pieces falling harmlessly to the ground in the middle of the Saudi desert.

He gives some more details about the ballistic missile campaign the Houthis have mounted against Israel, which is part of their campaign of terror and what Chaim describes as “picking fights with the whole world” which has been utterly futile and only resulted in the destruction of much of the strategic infrastructure in Yemen such as the airport in Sa’anna, sea ports, factories, etc.

Chaim wonders aloud what these Houthis could possibly be thinking, since it is already impossible for them to achieve any kind of “victory” and all they can look forward to is more death and destruction for themselves.

Next Chaim talks about how US President Donald Trump called up dual US-Israeli citizen Idan Alexander, who was recently released from captivity after spending 584 days as a hostage of Hamas in Gaza. This was part of President Trump’s Middle East tour, which has started in Riyhad Saudi Arabia with Trump and Saudi leader Crown Prince Muhammed Bin Salman signing a massive economic agreement that will see Saudi Arabia invest $600 billion in the US economy. THis raises the question of what else Saudi Arabia might do to enhance US interests in the region and what benefits Israel might derive from this.

Next Chaim mentions the Israeli air strike on the Hamas command base that had been built in tunnels underneath the European hospital in Khan Yunis, in the central Gaza Strip.

The target of this strike was Muhammed Sinwar, de facto commander of what’s left of Hamas in the Gaza Strip. He had been ardently refusing to budge from the maxamalist demands Hamas was making in order to agree to a cease-fire and a return of the remaining Israeli hostages, and it is hoped that with him out of the picture, negotiations can proceed.

Chaim concludes by quoting Jeremiah 2:3; Israel was holiness to the Lord, the firstfruits of His increase. All that devour him will offend; Disaster will come upon them,” says the Lord.’ ”
