(Day 587) Swords of Iron – “Who can we trust?”

Chaim starts by talking about the murder of 30-year-old Tzeela Gez, who was the victim of a shooting attack on her vehicle as she and her husband drove to the hospital in Petah Tikvah to deliver her fourth baby. The attacker has escaped so far, but the search for him continues.

Meanwhile, Operation Gideon’s Chariots, the planned large-scale offensive in Gaza, has been delayed. Chaim speculates that the offensive will be launched as soon as President Trump exits the region after his tour of Arab capitals.

In the meantime, the IDF is still dealing with all kinds of terrorist threats in Gaza including roadside bombs, IED’s, hit and run tactics and various other difficulties. Hamas is also using psychological warfare, forcing hostages to read false statements and otherwise playing head games with the Israeli public.

With this going on in Gaza, Chaim notes that President Trump has removed the economic sanctions from the new al-Jolani regime in Syria and unilaterally ended hostilities with the Houthis in Yemen. He is doing this to give these regimes a chance to play nice with Israel and the west and to also give them a chance to rebuild their own domestic economy. This might interfere in Israel’s ability to have a buffer zone in southern Syria, but maybe not.

Chaim says he’s not sure this is the best idea, but like everyone else, he’ll have to wait and see.

This goes for Gaza as well, where President Trump says it’s time to send in more humanitarian aid. Chaim says this is part of the Gideon’s Chariots plan, but it’s unclear if that’s what President Trump meant or if he’ll be flexible on this point.

There is also a question mark over how much, if any, control Saudi Arabia will have over what happens next in Gaza.

Amidst all this uncertainty on the political and diplomatic fronts, Chaim reminds his viewers that the IDF is not political, it is the intstrument of political policy, and it has the trust of the people to carry out these missions. To do this, the IDF needs help. Chaim reminds his viewers of the Aliyah Return Center’s “Emergency Aid Initiative,” which is still buying drones and other tactical equipment for IDF troops to be able to do their jobs safely and effectively.

He cites the example of Gideon in the Book of Judges, as someone who stood up to the long odds and faithfully carried out the assignment God gave him. Chaim says that he plans to keep following that example and he invites his viewers to do the same. Thus must be done on the public relations battlefield as well, and Chaim says he’s going to be launching a training course soon for media influencers to fight back against the anti-Israel lies and the anti-Semitism which is spreading all over the world.

In this context, he quotes Jeremiah 2:3; Israel was holiness to the Lord, the firstfruits of His increase. All that devour him will offend; Disaster will come upon them,” says the Lord.’ ”
