(Day 591) Swords of Iron – “Riding To Victory”

Chaim starts by giving some of the highlights of the Operation Gideon’s Chariots plan, including the deployment of five IDF Divisions into the Strip in order to create zones where civilians can get the food and medicine they need without giving Hamas an opportunity to steal it.

Chaim also talks about the intensity of the operation, with many different units involved and heavy contact with Hamas terrorists.

At the same time, the IDF has managed to take out most of Hamas’s leadership, senior level leaders as well as more mid-level and even junior field operatives. The brothers of the late Yahya Sinwar, who were both instrumental in the organization, have both been assassinated in recent air strikes. Other senior leaders have also been eliminated in recent IDF strikes from the air and on the ground.

Chaim says it’s an immensely complicated operation with a lot of moving parts but it’s what must be done in order to restore security and deterrence. In this context, he quotes Micah 4:13; “Arise and thresh, O daughter of Zion; For I will make your horn iron, and I will make your hooves bronze; You shall beat in pieces many peoples; I will consecrate their gain to the Lord, and their substance to the Lord of the whole earth.”
