(Day 593) Swords of Iron – “Hellbent on Israel’s Destruction”

Chaim starts out by saying that big things are in the offing as China has told all its citizens in Israel to leave the country immediately, as nuclear talks between the US and Iran appear to be breaking down. Israel is determined not to allow Iran to get nuclear weapons and Iran shows no signs of backing down. There is a real chance that full-scale war between Iran and Israel is about to break out.

Meanwhile, in the Gaza Strip, Israel is allowing large volumes of humanitarian aid in but Hamas is stealing much of it and the long-suffering ordinary people of Gaza are not getting much more than they were before Israel lifted restrictions. The IDF has advised the residents of Khan Yunis to evacuate because that city is about to get very hot and there are many other things going on that point to this war coming to a conclusion, one way or the other, very soon.

However, Chaim reminds us that IDF soldiers are still getting killed in action, and he cites some of the latest casualties.

He also talks about an incident in Jenin when a diplomatic convoy was on their way through the city but someone went off the approved route, prompting the IDF troops to fire warning shots which caused no casualties or damage but which freaked some of the diplomats out. This makes Israel look bad, although, there appears to be understanding on the part of the diplomats that they made the first mistake in this unfortunate incident, which led to the IDF making a mistake.

In this context, Chaim quotes Jeremiah 51:36; Therefore thus says the Lord: “Behold, I will plead your case and take vengeance for you. I will dry up her sea and make her springs dry.

Chaim concludes by saying this verse reminds us that Israel will never be wiped out by an Iranian nuclear weapon or any other weapon, because God will watch over us.
