Chaim starts by saying that with all the information, misinformation, rumors, lies, deceit and nonsense flying around, it can be difficult to know how to feel or what to think. Chaim’s suggestion is, in this difficult time, it’s best to stop and pray for Israel, stand with the truth, and don’t give up.
Chaim contrasts this with those who have never even been to Israel, or any other country in the Middle East, but think they know what’s going on here better than Israelis and others who live here. He says this is difficult to understand or explain in the natural, because it’s a spiritual condition that people have, usually without even knowing it.
Chaim also mentions the reports coming out of the European hospital in Khan Yunis that the IDF is operating there. He points out that the operation is meant to retrieve the remains of Mohammed Sinwar and other terrrorist leaders who were in tunnels deliberately dug underneath the hospital in an effort to use the hospital and the civilians using it as human shields. The IDF hit those tunnels and took out Sinwar and the others, and now the IDF is moving in on the ground to mop up what’s left of the Hamas operations there.
Chaim also points out that on this day in 1981, the IDF carried out Operation Opera, the destruction of Saddam Hussein’s nuclear weapons program. He says that we’re in the same situation with Iran today, and there is a need to seriously consider taking similar actions to deal with it.
He also says it’s a good thing that the Al-Jolani regime in Syria has agreed to allow the IDF to operate in a buffer zone in southern Syria to prevent Iran from moving weapons through that area meant to re-arm Hezbollah. The Al-Jolani regime is proving to be pragmatic and practical about many things, and that’s a very refreshing change from the way things are usually done in this part of the world.
At the same time, Israelis are sad but also relieved to have recovered the remains of three of the hostages who were kidnapped into Gaz on October 7th, 2023. It’s good to have an honorable end to their story, even if it is sad that they were murdered in captivity.
Chaim gives credit to the different IDF units who were part of the operation to bring these remains back to Israel, and he also notes the wide range of terrorist groups operating in Gaza and throughout the region. There have been many splits and splinters among the terror groups over the decades. Some of those splits were very bloody, including the violent expulsion of the Palestinian Authority from the Gaza Strip by Hamas in 2007.
Chaim concludes by quoting Deuteronomy 33:29; Happy are you, O Israel! Who is like you, a people saved by the Lord, the shield of your help and the sword of your majesty! Your enemies shall submit to you, and you shall tread down their high places.”
