(Day 637) Swords of Iron – “Dream Team”

Chaim starts out by wishing a happy Independence Day to his American viewers, adding that Israelis are very happy to be such good friends with the United States. We know that it goes back to May 14th, 1948, when US President Harry S. Truman was the first world leader to recognize the newborn State of Israel. This friendship and partnership continues to the present day, when both countries realize that freedom must be actively preserved, protected and defended.

This is manifested in joint military, intelligence, diplomatic and economic moves that both countries undertake in order to preserve peace and stability in the world, push back against evil and terrorism and provide our citizens with a good quality of life.

Chaim says that in this season of history, we can see the tides shifting. Iran has just kicked out the IAEA inspectors and are threatening to race for a nuclear weapon, so Israel and America are making plans to ensure that this quest fails.

At the same time, the IDF continues to carry out covert operations all over the region, specifically in Lebanon and Syria, to prevent Iran from building up new terrorist proxy groups to threat Israel and the stability of the region.

Inside Iran, there is a growing sense of revolt against the Ayatollah regime. The regime is responding by cracking down even harder on dissidents and others it suspects of being against them. This has included the tiny (and mostly elderly) Jewish population of the country.

Back in Israel, there is some cautious optimism as Hamas has given a positive response to the latest cease-fire proposals, but Chaim quotes US Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee who says that Hamas has no place in post-war Gaza just like the Nazis had no place in post-WWII Germany.

In this context, Chaim quotes Psalms 76:1-3; In Judah God is known; His name is great in Israel. in Salem also is His tabernacle, and His dwelling place in Zion. There He broke the arrows of the bow, the shield and sword of battle. Selah
