(Day 646) Swords of Iron – “Iran Attack on Israel Imminent- Again???”

Chaim starts by talking about threats by Iran’s regime to renew attacks on Israel, using the pretext of a supposed attempt Israel made to assassinate President Masoud Pezeshkian. Turkey has already taken the step of cancelling civilian flights that might need to use the airspace in between Iran and Israel, and Germany is saying they will engage the “snapback sanctions” mechanism on Iran.

Chaim says it’s a very volatile situation and he reminds his viewers that the 9th of Av is coming up and he asks them to pray and fast in solidarity with Israel.

Chaim also mentions the political issues in Israel, from the instability of the governing coalition because of the haredi enlistment issue to the attempts to oust the Attorney General and many other things that are going on. But there are also issues in Israel’s neighbors, such as Syria, where there have been clashes between the Druze community and the Beduin community, and the regime of Abu Muhammed Al-Jolani doesn’t seem to be able or willing to put a stop to it. Also, the IDF has recently been making raids on Assad-regime era military sites and finding large quantities of weapons that someone or other is apparently trying to stockpile in hopes of one day using them against Israel.

Meanwhile, hanging over everything, there is the possibility of a cease-fire in Gaza. Chaim is strongly opposed to the plan of agreeing to the terms Hamas has set for a cease-fire, which he feels would amount to a unilateral capitulation to Hamas after they’ve been utterly defeated on the battlefield.

Chaim goes on to list several places in Scripture where Gaza is mentioned, usually in a negative context, but all making it very clear that this area is also part of the Promised Land that Israel should never have given up. He also cites several examples from history where this area was controlled by various powers and factions and he says that in this contemporary period, it is necessary for Israel to control it in order to ensure security for Israeli citizens. He adds that he believes if it is turned over to the Egyptians, Saudis and Qataris, Hamas will come back and threaten Israel again.
