(Day 687) Swords of Iron – “Secret Weapon”

Chaim starts out by saying he wants to show his viewers a “secret weapon” that IDF soldiers carry into battle with them, and it’s cards with the Psalms and other Bible verses written on them. These cards, which soldiers carry so they can read the verses and proclaim them over themselves and their comrades and their country, give them spiritual strength when other forms of strength fail them.

One example Chaim reads, and he invites his viewers to grab their Bibles and also read these passages, including Habakkuk 3:19, The Lord God is my strength; He will make my feet like deer’s feet, and He will make me walk on my high hills. To the Chief Musician. With my stringed instruments.

Also Psalms 3:3; But You, O Lord, are a shield for me, My glory and the One who lifts up my head.

Chaim makes the point that these are promises made specifically to Israel. He says that it’s okay for others to read them devotionally and meditate on them, but they are specific blessings and promises made to Israel.

As another example of this, he quotes Zecheriah 4:6; So he answered and said to me:

“This is the word of the Lord to Zerubbabel: ‘Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,’
Says the Lord of hosts.

He quotes several more verses and urges his viewers to learn Hebrew so they can read the Bible in its original language. He adds that at the Aliyah Return Center, there is training in Hebrew available.

He concludes by reminding his viewers, and himself, that Israel’s help doesn’t come from their own strength or from idols, but from the Lord.
