(Day 695) Swords of Iron – “Honorable Burial”
Chaim starts by talking about the elimination of Abu Obeidah, the spokesman for Hamas who spewed hatred and contempt against Israel and the Jewish people for over two decades. At the same time, we’re mourning the 900th IDF soldier killed in action during this war, and many more who have been wounded.
Chaim then asks the rhetorical question of how this is all going to end, and he answers that rhetorical question by saying that this is going to end in an Israeli victory. He also says that the US has offered an interesting long-term plan for the Gaza Strip, saying it can be a trusteeship that will promote the building of smart cities and other infrastructure that would make it a really great place to live so the residents will be less likely to want to attack their Israeli neighbors.
Next, he talks about how Doran Almog, the chairman of the Jewish Agency, cancelled a recent trip to South Africa because the regime that rules in that country is accusing Israel of genocide and it was deemed a risk that if he went there he could run into serious problems.
Next, Chaim talks about Idan Shavti, an Israeli hostage who was kidnapped into Gaza on October 7th, 2023 and died in captivity. His remains were recently rescued and returned to Israel so his family can give him a proper burial. Chaim says that it’s a terrible shame that a young person who was so full of life should end in such a tragic and evil way.
Chaim also mentions the recent Israeli strikes in Yemen which resulted in the elimination of the Houthi leadership. Some of these senior officials have already been replaced, but the organization has been dealt a serious blow.
He concludes by giving a short explanation of the purpose of fasting and asks his viewers to keep praying for the hostages as we approach the Day of Atonement.
