(Day 713) Swords of Iron – “I attended 2 funerals today”
Chaim starts by saying that most people can’t imagine what it’s like to be under fire from ballistic missiles, rockets and drones on a continuous, long-term basis, and putting a stop to this is why some people have to wear the IDF uniform and push back against this evil.
At the same time, there is also the continuing threat from terrorism, such as the shooting attack at the Allenby Crossing from Jordan, which left two IDF soldiers dead. There was also another incident in Rafah, in southern Gaza, which left four IDF soldiers killed in action.
Chaim says that this makes it clear that Gaza must be cleared of terrorists and that Hamas must be disarmed. On that note, there is an estimate that there are around 5,000 Hamas gunmen left in Gaza City, as well as around 3,000 Palestinian Islamic Jihad gunmen. There is a lot of work for the IDF to complete.
At the same time, Chaim is glad to see that America is deporting terrorist supporters and he is also glad to see that Israel has fielded an “Iron Beam” laser-based air defense system which can shoot down incoming missiles and drones for a tiny fraction of the cost that Iron Dome and other systems cost.
Chaim concludes by quoting Psalms 91:7 A thousand may fall at your side, and ten thousand at your right hand; but it shall not come near you.
