(Day 716) Swords of Iron – “2 State Delusion”

Chaim starts by saying it feels surreal to see Western countries, which have long had friendly and rational relations with Israel, declaring their recognition of a Palestinian State on the first day of the Feast of Trumpets. The hostages are still being held in Gaza and the Iranians are threatening another round of missile attacks, but that doesn’t seem to matter to these Western countries. It also doesn’t seem to matter to them that no Palestinian faction is even ASKING for a State to live alongside Israel in peace at this point. Nor are they interested in building any of the institutions of a state; they all say very openly that all they want to do is destroy Israel and they have some vague plan for building something on the ruins later on.

There is an entire generation that grew up in Gaza since the Israeli evacuation in 2005 who know nothing except hatred and contempt for Israel and a desire to destroy it. They have been indoctrinated into that thought process, so “peace” and “coexistence” is the last thing on their minds.

Meanwhile, the IDF still has a lot of very difficult and dangerous work to do in the Gaza Strip, soldiers are still getting killed and wounded doing it, and these Western governments are being incredibly irresponsible and unhelpful. There are many in the West who say (and maybe some of them sincerely believe it) that they’re fighting for “justice” for the Palestinians. But the truth is, the result of their efforts will only be anarchy and chaos and eventually, if it goes far enough, it’ll lead to the collapse of Western civilization.

Meanwhile, Chaim says that despite everything, the IDF will stay focused on rescuing the hostages. Hamas can be expected to keep committing atrocities, such as using the residents of Gaza City as their human shields and even attacking the UN in Gaza, such as happened this week.

Amidst all this, there is a growing movement in Israel to annex Judea and Samaria. Israel has reportedly told France that this will be the result if it recognizes a Palestinian State. Rewarding a terrorist entity is not the way to achieve peace.

What MUST be done to achieve real peace is precisely what Israel is doing in southern Lebanon, methodically destroying all the Hezbollah infrastructure there. Meanwhile, Iran is saying it will no longer cooperate with the International Atomic Energy Agency, as if it ever did. Chaim says everyone knows exactly what Iran is up to, and he’s glad that the E3 countries are reimposing sanctions on the regime.

Chaim concludes by saying he wants the people of Gaza to get the leadership and the life of dignity they deserve, but giving them a Palestinian State now is not the answer. In this context, he quotes Zephaniah 2:4; For Gaza shall be forsaken, and Ashkelon desolate;

They shall drive out Ashdod at noonday, and Ekron shall be uprooted.
