(Day 739) Swords of Iron – “Will they uphold the agreement?
Chaim starts out by saying he’s out of uniform today. It is Simchat Torah, the day that Jewish people come to the end of the yearlong cycle of Torah reading and roll it back to the beginning. It’s also the day two years ago when Hamas launched its massacre of Israelis and also took 251 Israelis captive back into Gaza.
But it’s a day to remember God’s faithfulness and celebrate the victory.
However, it’s also a day to acknowledge the massive upsurge in anti-Semitism around the world, however, as Chaim has said before, this won’t be “over” until all the hostages, including the remains of those who were murdered in captivity, have been returned to their families for a proper, dignified burial. The IDF is doing everything possible to make sure that happens.
However, Chaim also reminds his viewers that Hezbollah is still trying to regroup, reorganize and rearm itself up in Lebanon. However, the President of Lebanon’s internationally recognized government has said that the obvious direction the Middle East is headed in is towards greater friendship and cooperation with Israel, and that’s the direction he wants his country to go in as well.
However, getting back to Hamas, they have not given up on their dream of destroying Israel and Chaim says the IDF will have to continue to be vigilant.
He concludes by quoting Joshua 10:8; “And the Lord said to Joshua, “Do not fear them, for I have delivered them into your hand; not a man of them shall stand before you.”
