(Day 743) Swords of Iron – “Not Surprised – They Broke the Ceasefire”
Chaim starts by saying he’s on a short break from the IDF, in civilian clothes at home with his family in the Galilee. But Hamas has violated the ceasefire and it might break down completely soon. Chaim says that Hamas doesn’t really WANT a ceasefire, because they’re a death cult and if the war continues, there will be more death and that’s what they really want.
Chaim also mentions that there are those in the government who want to return to fighting and completely wipe out Hamas, because there’s no way to trust them or meet them halfway. Either they get annihilated or they’ll continue causing problems. They don’t know how to do anything else and they don’t want to.Chaim then mentions that even the US State Department are telling Hamas that they must disarm, but they’re not listening. They’re a criminal gang and they don’t care what anyone says. They’re ruthlessly eliminating anyone who opposes them inside Gaza and that can’t be ignored. Although no one wants to see the ceasefire fall apart, they simply can’t be trusted.
However, even amidst this, Chaim says it’s vitally important to take break from the war and the tumult sometimes. In this context, he concludes by quoting Isaiah 49:13; Sing, O heavens!
Be joyful, O earth! And break out in singing, O mountains! For the Lord has comforted His people, and will have mercy on His afflicted.
