(Day 745) Swords of Iron – “Don’t Fall To Foolishness”

Chaim starts by wishing a happy 76th birthday to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who was born in Tel Aviv in 1949, the first full year of Israel’s independence as a modern nation-state.

Next Chaim talks about how everyone is now wondering what will happen next in Gaza. Will the ceasefire hold? Will IDF reservists like Chaim be released to go home and resume their civilian lives after two years of fighting? Or will the fighting resume and the IDF completely crush what’s left of Hamas. Chaim says this is what’s needed.

However, if that does not happen, there are other possibilities being pursued, and Israeli officials are meeting with their counterparts in Washington to see what can be done to finish the job, expand the Abraham Accords, and move ahead.

Chaim also mentions a data leak which saw Al Jazeera, which has close ties to Hamas and the Moslem Brotherhood, acquire the names, photos and other personal information on 30,000 members of Israel’s air force. This is the kind of thing that can be very dangerous and Chaim says this must be prevented from happening again.

On the other hand, Egypt’s intelligence chief was in Jerusalem this week, working on plans to expand cooperation with Israel in many areas.

Chaim next talks about the need to be alert at all times, citing a situation he and his soldiers were involved in this week which could have been a terrorist attack but ended up being just an ordinary traffic accident, but he and his soldiers were ready to respond to whatever was going on. Another group of people who are ready to respond to whatever might happen is the US Army, 200 soldiers of which are in Israel right now as observers to make sure the ceasefire holds and the plan stays on track. Meanwhile, the Palestinian Authority is asking for $67 billion to “rebuild the Gaza Strip” but Chaim says that the PA has a track record of corruption and mismanagement so they should not be trusted with that kind fo money.

Chaim also points out that there are hundreds of Israeli families mourning the loss of their loved ones who were murdered by Hamas or who were killed in action while fighting this war that Hamas started on October 7th, and they should get compensation before the PA gets anything.

So Chaim urges his viewers not to fall for the foolishness that is rampant in the world today.

He then talks about the hostages who have recently been released by Hamas. They have returned to Israel and they are telling their stories, many of which include an element of finding faith in God and strength in the connection they had to God and the Jewish People which helped them get through the two years they spent in captivity. Chaim says this should be an inspiration to all of us to strengthen our own connection to God and our faith community. In this context, he concludes by quoting Isaiah 51:3; For the Lord will comfort Zion, He will comfort all her waste places; He will make her wilderness like Eden, and her desert like the garden of the Lord; Joy and gladness will be found in it, Thanksgiving and the voice of melody.
