(Day 758) Swords of Iron – ”Heroes laid to rest”

Chaim starts by saying he’s in Jerusalem and he’s happy to see that the remains of more murdered hostages have been returned to Israel by Hamas in the Gaza Strip. This most recently included three soldiers who fell defending Kibbutz Nir Oz on the morning of October 7th, 2023, but their dead bodies were kidnapped back into the Strip.

There are still eight slain hostages whose remains have not been accounted for, and Chaim also mentions the controversy which has arisen as it came to light that hundreds of Hamas terrorists were trapped behind the Yellow Line in Rafah. Some of them participated in attacks on IDF troops despite the ceasefire, and now Hamas wants them to be given safe passage back to Hamas lines in the western part of Gaza. Israeli officials are saying no so far, but there might be a deal made that would include them leaving in exchange for more sets of remains of hostages.

However, as soon as the last remains are returned, Phase 2 of the deal will commence, and this will include Hamas disarming, all the tunnels being demolished, and Hamas disbanding.

Meanwhile, Hezbollah is once again threatening Israel on the northern border. The internationally recognized government of Lebanon is incapable of seriously confronting them, and so the IDF must continue to hit them and defang them.

In conclusion, Chaim quotes Psalms 91:1-4; He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High
Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress; My God, in Him I will trust.” Surely He shall deliver you from the snare of the fowler
And from the perilous pestilence. He shall cover you with His feathers, and under His wings you shall take refuge; His truth shall be your shield and buckler.
