(Day 772) Swords of Iron – “Global powers, shifting, communist socialist/Jihadist revolution”

Chaim starts by telling his viewers about reports that Hamas has handed over the remains of what they believe is a hostage who was murdered in captivity. If confirmed, this would leave only two hostages unaccounted for, but there’s still a job for the IDF to do. Chaim says the job MUST be done now so that his children don’t have to come back and do this all over again in a few years.

But Hamas doesn’t see it that way and they’re stockpiling weapons all over the world in anticipation that someday they’ll be able to bring everything to Gaza and rearm their fighters to have another go at Israel. The Israeli security echelon is hard at work arresting Hamas operatives and seizing Hamas weapons, ammunition and equipment in many places, including in Jerusalem and Judea and Samaria.

Meanwhile, there is a split between Israel and the US over how to handle the issue of hundreds of Hamas fighters who were trapped in tunnels underneath the Israeli zone of control in Gaza. Chaim says these fighters must disarm and surrender, but Hamas has rejected this and the US is saying that they should be allowed to disarm and return to Hamas lines in Western Gaza, so there’s kind of an impasse for now.

But Hamas has also rejected an American proposal at the UN to end the war with their being disarmed, despite the provisions of this plan which provide a pathway to a Palestinian state. THis is just the latest iteration of an old issue, that the Palestinians keep rejecting offers of a state if it means that Israel will also continue to exist.

Elsewhere, newly elected New York Mayor Zorhan Mamdani is threatening that if Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu comes to the UN General Assembly in New York next year, he will be arrested on the strength of a warrant issued by the International Criminal Court, which the US is not a signatory to.

Chaim says this is a threat to the entire free world.

Meanwhile, the diary of a senior Hamas operative has been released in which he talks about using schools as ambush sites, looting UN facilities and other war crimes. Chaim says this is being laid out in black and white but so many in the world simply don’t care.

However, there is some good news this week as Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman is on his way to the White House and the possibility of Riyadh joining the Abraham Accords is on the agenda for this meeting. However, Bin Salman insists on there being a realistic pathway to a Palestinian State. But Chaim says that the idea of a “Palestinian State” is very nebulous and there are many questions about it that would have to be answered before this could go forward.
