(Day 797) Swords of Iron – “Israel: Light to Nations.”
Chaim starts by talking about the Israeli Air Force strikes on the Hezbollah Radwan Force training camps in southern Lebanon over the weekend. Several other pieces of Hezbollah’s terror infrastructure in Lebanon was also hit in these strikes. Chaim says that Israel isn’t waiting for Hezbollah to get strong enough to strike as it has in the past. Now Israel is getting out ahead of problems, not waiting for them to get out of hand.
Speaking of getting out ahead of things, Israel has also approved the construction of 800 new housing units in Judea and Samaria.
On a more somber note, the video moves to footage recently released of six hostages who were murdered by Hamas as they lit Hanukkah candles together in the tunnels where they were being held. Their families have asked that people don’t forget them, and Chaim says he’s happy to do that and he also laments that he and his unit were very close to the tunnels where these hostages were being held, but was unable to find them before it was too late.
Chaim also mentions Tucker Carlson’s crusade to try and turn Christians against Israel, which is as bizzare as it is evil.
Next Chaim talks about Storm Byron bringing massive amounts of rain to all parts of Israel this week. It was too much for the soil in many parts of the country to absorb quickly, so there was flooding in many places. Chaim says it reminds him of Psalms 126:1-4; When the Lord turned again the captivity of Zion, we were like them that dream. Then was our mouth filled with laughter, and our tongue with singing: then said they among the heathen, The Lord hath done great things for them. The Lord hath done great things for us; whereof we are glad. Turn again our captivity, O Lord, as the streams in the south.
He also talks about how the people will see a great light, and refers to Isaiah 9:1-2; Nevertheless the gloom will not be upon her who is distressed, as when at first He lightly esteemed. The land of Zebulun and the land of Naphtali, and afterward more heavily oppressed her, by the way of the sea, beyond the Jordan, in Galilee of the Gentiles. The people who walked in darkness have seen a great light; those who dwelt in the land of the shadow of death,
upon them a light has shined.
Chaim points out that it was in the Galilee that the Macabbi revolt against the Seleucid Greeks began, and that is where Hanukkah comes from.
There is a tradition associated with this holiday that the “Shemash” candle lights all the others, and Chaim says this is a powerful symbol of how his viewers can be a light to those around them, and he also quotes Isaiah 60:1-3; Arise, shine; for your light has come! And the glory of the Lord is risen upon you. For behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, And deep darkness the people; But the Lord will arise over you, and His glory will be seen upon you. The Gentiles shall come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your rising.
