(Day 809) Swords of Iron – “Not-So-Little-Miracles”
Chaim starts by wishing his viewers a happy holiday season of light. He says he got his voice back after almost losing it because he was sick from being out in the cold and rain in Gaza.
Next he says that he’s grateful for all the miracles that God has done in his life and in the life of the nation of Israel. In this war, there have been many miracles, big and small. The many missiles, rockets and UAVs which were heading our way should have overwhelmed us and killed large numbers of people, but that didn’t happen.
Hezbollah, the most highly trained, well-led, heavily armed and financed terror army on the planet, was hammered and pushed back away from the border, foiling their plans to “conquer the Galilee” and all that.
Even the Hanukkah attack on Jewish people at Bondi Beach in Sydney, Australia, could have been much worse. Chaim also mentions a bus attack that was supposed to happen several months ago but the timers were messed up so the bombs went off at 9 PM when the buses were parked and empty instead of at 9 AM when they would have been packed in rush hour traffic.
But at Bondi beach there was a Jewish hero named Leibel Lazaroff who saved a police officer but was severely wounded himself. Chaim says that he’s trying to look at the good things in this world and the good people, and not just the darkness.
For instance, there was a follow-up attack that was supposed to happen a few days later in Manchester, in the UK, but it was broken up by the police.
Chaim also reminds his viewers that this is the season when people all over the world are celebrating the birth of the most famous Jew and the most famous Israeli of all time, and that’s Jesus of Nazareth. He was born in Bethlehem and grew up in the Galilee, and people who say the Jews are not indigenous to the Land of Israel but they celebrate the birth of this Jewish baby here 2,000 years ago have some hard thinking to do.
On that note, Chaim says that he hopes people make a New Year’s resolution to be truthful with themselves and each other, to stop with the deceit and the gaslighting, especially the self-inflicted kind.
Israel has always been important, 2,000 years ago and still today, and what happens here is going to affect every man, woman and child living on this planet, and people need to pay attention and try hard to find the truth.
Speaking of truth, IDF chief of staff Eyal Zamir has said that Israel’s security is far from guaranteed. In Iran, they’re testing ballistic missiles to launch at us again, Hezbollah isn’t ready to quit, Hamas in Gaza isn’t ready to quit, the Houthis in Yemen aren’t ready to quit, the Shi’ite militias in Iraq aren’t ready to quit, and Israel’s many enemies in the Western world are also not ready to quit.
But Chaim Malespin is also not ready to quit, and he’s going back to continue serving in Gaza and also in the north, so he asks his viewers to continue praying for him and the rest of the IDF soldiers.
In this context, he quotes US Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee, who said recently that for Iran and its proxy terror groups, Israel is just the appetizer, while America and the West are the main course.
This is a clash of civilization vs. barbarism, and the guardian of Israel neither slumbers nor sleeps. In this context, Chaim quotes Psalms 144:1-2; Blessed be the Lord my Rock, Who trains my hands for war, and my fingers for battle. My lovingkindness and my fortress, my high tower and my deliverer, my shield and the One in whom I take refuge, who subdues my people under me.
