(Day 811) Swords of Iron – “T*rror in Galilee”
Chaim starts by addressing the common saying in Israel “Am Israel Chai” which translates as “the People of Israel live” and he says it seems odd to mention that, since all people live while they’re alive. But what makes it profound to say about the people of Israel is that there are many forces in the world who want to make it not be true and these forces are investing a lot of time, money, effort and resources to try and make it not be true.
For instance, earlier this day, a terrorist rammed his car into a group of people waiting at a bus stop in Beit Shean, in the Galilee, not far from where Chaim lives. At least two people were killed, including an 18 year old woman and a 68 year old man, with several others critically wounded. This was one of three terror attacks in the Galilee this week. THe attackers came from Samaria, in areas that are under the civil administration of the Palestinian Authority. There is also increased terror activity in southern Lebanon, in Syria, where the Al-Jolani regime has limited control over most of the country outside the large cities near the coast. Also in Jordan and elsewhere in the region, forces of instability are on the march, so Israel has to be vigilant and not let our guard down.
Chaim also says that when he came out of Lebanon recently, he saw all the Christmas decorations up in the Arab villages of the Galilee, in Nazareth and in Haifa and in Jerusalem. Israel is the only country in the Middle East where Christians are free to practice their religion in peace, but there is a narrative gaining traction around the world that Israel mercilessly persecutes its Christian population. THis is so absurd but a lot of people have chosen to believe it.
But ther’s also some good things happening, such as Somoliland joining the Abraham Accords after Israel recognized this country.
Chaim says more victories are coming and in this context he quotes Zechariah 6:8; And He called to me, and spoke to me, saying, “See, those who go toward the north country have given rest to My Spirit in the north country.”
