(Day 812) Swords of Iron – “Upbringing”

Chaim starts by saying that Shabbat is over and it’s cold, wet and rainy where he’s filming from, but he’s glad to be alive. He says there is one more hostage in Gaza, but it’s a miracle that so many, living and dead, have been returned to Israel, and he gives thanks to God and people like US President Donald Trump who still believe in freedom and decency.

Chaim also gives thanks to all those who serve in the IDF with him, demolishing Hamas tunnels and otherwise standing guard over Israel.

But he also says that there is so much importance to upbringing, the way children are raised. He gives an example of an Arab teenager in Beit Shemesh who stole a car and crashed it, just for fun. He says that Israelis and Jews know all about the importance of upbringing and Qatar does too, which is why they’re “donating” so much money to American universities and they’re getting something for their money, which is control over the curriculum at those universities.

On that note, Chaim points out that anti-Semitic incidents and rhetoric are increasing at dramatic rates all over the world, and he says that Qatar is not a neutral observer of all this, but rather, they’re a driving force behind it.

In this atmosphere, freedom and Judeo-Christian values need strong defenders, and Chaim says he’s glad to see that President Trump launched punitive strikes on jihadist forces attacking Christians in Nigeria on Christmas Day and he’s also launching strikes on ISIS in Syria.

Chaim also talks about the increasing activity of his unit, the Ya’halom combat engineering corps of the IDF, which is demolishing tunnels all over Gaza, especially east of the Yellow Line. At the same time, Israelis are being warned that they must be ready for another round of conflict with Iran, but Chaim says that even without a conflict with Iran, there is a “storm in the north that isn’t going out” meaning that Hezbollah in Lebanon is not standing down and has learned nothing from it’s catastrophic defeat a year ago. Chaim warns them that if they start anything with Israel, they’ll be destroyed just like they were last time.
