Update (Day 865) Swords of Iron – “Dangerous Chess Moves”

The IDF has revealed that Hamas used a prearranged sequence of emojis as coded signals to launch the October 7 massacre—the worst violence against Jews since the Holocaust. Those symbols reportedly signaled their forces when to breach the fence, detonate explosives, disable cameras, and attack civilians. We must ensure this never happens again.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has made clear that any deal with Iran must meet four nonnegotiable pillars:

– Remove all enriched uranium from Iran.

– Dismantle all enrichment facilities—no “civilian-use” excuses.

– Eliminate or strictly limit ballistic missiles to no more than 300 km range capability.

– Dismantle Iran’s terror proxies across the region.

On the ground in Gaza, locating and destroying terror tunnels remains slow and delicate work. Yet near the security perimeter, IDF forces continue uncovering weapons caches—RPGs, assault rifles, explosives—linked to Rafah brigades. Hamas was preparing more attacks.

Israel has now issued Hamas a 60-day ultimatum: fully disarm or face a renewed, full-scale war. That means surrendering an estimated 60,000 AK-47s, all RPGs, explosives, and dismantling their entire tunnel network. Gaza must be completely demilitarized. Hamas will not remain as Gaza’s political authority—no partial disarmament, no Hezbollah-style model. That proposal is dead on arrival. The board-of-peace framework backs this demand.

Questions remain about Iran, and possible attacks by us and/or the USA. Talks in Geneva reportedly include a proposal by Iran of a three-year suspension of enrichment and transferring uranium stockpiles abroad in exchange for sanctions relief. But Israel and the U.S. insist on zero enrichment. Nothing is finalized.

At the same time, Tehran has issued threats, including rhetoric about targeting the USS Gerald R. Ford. Meanwhile, U.S. Air Force E-3 Sentry AWACS aircraft have deployed to the region, and additional allied forces are positioning nearby. The situation is fluid and volatile.

Still, like Joshua facing the giants, we remember the words of Joshua 1:9: “Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid… for the Lord your God goes with you.” No matter the enemy’s threats, we stand firm.
