Update (Day 873) Swords of Iron – “Friends in Tough Times”

In a time when friendships between Israel and our friends around the world feel strained, it is heartwarming to see Modi, the prime minister of India, meet with our prime minister. This friendship is strong, even in a tense and intense time.

The German embassy called its citizens throughout Israel and said, “Any German here, be ready for a prolonged stay.” They warned that the ability to provide assistance or evacuation during wartime may be very limited.

Citizens were advised to stock up on food and supplies, locate nearby shelters, and download the missile alert app—what we call “Red Alert” here.

Our national assessment is that a war is coming. It is not a matter of if, but when. All of this buildup does not appear to be mere intimidation for the sake of a deal, but something far more decisive.

The 12 F-22 warplanes that departed Britain and arrived at Ben Gurion Airport are remarkable aircraft. They can carry a 4.5-ton internal stealth munition payload, up to 15 tons in total. These are extraordinary planes. I do not know if Israel even has this type of aircraft. They are long-range, require minimal refueling, can sustain Mach 1.5 speeds without afterburners, and reduce heat signature. It is phenomenal capability.

President Trump is assessing the situation. We do not know what will happen. In his State of the Union address, he emphasized “America First.” Many critique his America First policies, but standing with Israel helps America. He has made clear that Iranian missiles have the range to strike Europe and could eventually reach America, potentially with nuclear warheads. He described the regime as apocalyptic jihadists running the country.

Israel was not mentioned during the address. President Donald Trump said that over the last couple of months the Iranian regime has killed 32,000 people. I believe the number is higher. A friend from Iran told me it may be over 86,000.

Iran has already developed missiles capable of threatening Europe, army bases, and regional stability. The president says he wants to make a deal—that is his preference—but we do not know if they will agree. I believe that even if they do, they would not be truthful.

Hamas bet on survival. They bet that the whole world would turn against Israel. After they massacred us, they were almost right. But now they are dealing with Trump. Perhaps their strategy is to outlast his presidency and hope someone else will back them.

He says he has dealt strongly with them and with Iran. None of these battles are over. The war is not over. Hamas is not gone. The IRGC is not gone. But the righteous will endure, and the wicked will pass.

Meanwhile, we must stand strong and not fear.

I love Isaiah 41:10: “Fear not, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”

Believe that with me, friends.
