Are You Making Aliyah?

ARC Israel Updates

Chaim answers questions on various topics that have been submitted to the website.

The first question was “how are things going over there?”

Chaim answers that Israel is going through ‘dire times” and gives an example of the large number of IDF soldiers who have already been killed in action, even before a ground operation in Gaza has started. He then tells a little of his personal story, when he made Aliyah and how he got drafted into the IDF and what his unit does.

He then answers a question about how and why this current war started, explaining about the attack by Hamas which led to the massacre of 1,500 Israelis. He also talks about how the situation threatens to escalate into a much bigger war if Iran jumps in. He also explains why Israel is asking Palestinians living in Gaza to move south, away from Gaza City, so they won’t be caught in the crossfire when the IDF hits Hamas targets in the city.

He then answers a question about the atrocities committed against Israelis by Hamas terrorists and says that anyone who makes excuses for this evil is complicit in it. He also compares the Hamas terrorists with the Israeli Arabs who made a decision to work together with Jews for a better future.

He also discusses some of the evidence, including the testimony of Hamas terrorists who were captured, for all the atrocities that were committed. He also answers a question about the difference between Hamas and the IDF, or any other national army. He talks about the IDF’s code of “purity of arms” which includes doing everything possible to avoid civilian casualties.

He also explains that it’s a very complicated situation where the Hamas terrorists embed themselves among the civilian population of Gaza deliberately because they know Israel will hesitate to fire on their positions if there are civilians who might be hit. They also know that if civilians are hit, they can use this for propaganda purposes.

He answers a question about the feelings that he and his fellow soldiers have. He discusses the shock and sadness, but also the determination that they have to end the threat that Hamas poses to Israel. He says they’re determined to make a better future for their children. He also talks about the fears that some of them have of being killed in battle and the fears they have for their families who are still exposed to danger and rocket fire. There are also fears that the war could expand and that other regional powers could jump in, and which way they’ll jump, and how bad it could get for everyone.

He then answers a question about whether there has been any change in the strategy and he says absolutely there hasn’t been. “It’s Judgement Day for Hamas” he declares, explaining that he and his comrades have come to put an end to the evil that Hamas does and wants to do more. They’re doing evil to Israel but also to the Palestinian people.

He also answers a question of why Israel is bombing in Syria. He explains that it’s all connected to deterring the threats to Israel from Iran.

He concludes by answering a question about what he does when he’s not in the IDF. He tells about the work of the Aliyah Return Center, which he’s the chairman of. He thanks those who have watched the video and asks people to continue praying for and supporting the Aliyah Return Center.

Chaim opens his report on Day 10 the current conflict by expressing amazement at all the big-picture developments all over the region and the wider world related to Israel and it’s conflict with Gaza. Then he zeros in on what it means to be a “good shepherd” of what God has put under our care and authority, including our own families but also the information we might have regarding what’s going on in our own neighborhood and our own country.

He quotes the Prophet Isaiah, in chapter 40 verses 10-11 of his book;

Behold, the Lord God will come with might, with His arm ruling for Him. Behold, His compensation is with Him, and His reward before Him. Like a shepherd He will tend His flock, in His arm He will gather the lambs and carry them in the fold of His robe; He will gently lead the nursing ewes.

Later, in chapter 59:19, the Prophet Isaiah continues by saying that; So, shall they fear the name of the Lord from the west, and his glory from the rising of the sun. When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the Lord shall lift up a standard against him.

Chaim reminds us of many of the heroes of the Bible who were shepherds and he says that God is like a shepherd for the people of Israel and He will rescue them when an enemy comes to hurt them. He also reminds us of the warning against false shepherds who scatter the flock, a prophecy from Jeremiah 23:1-4,

“Woe to the shepherds who are causing the sheep of My pasture to perish and are scattering them!” declares the Lord. Therefore, this is what the Lord, the God of Israel says concerning the shepherds who are tending My people: “You have scattered My flock and driven them away, and have not been concerned about them; behold, I am going to call you to account for the evil of your deeds,” declares the Lord. “Then I Myself will gather the remnant of My flock out of all the countries where I have driven them, and bring them back to their pasture, and they will be fruitful and multiply. I will also raise up shepherds over them and they will tend them; and they will not be afraid any longer, nor be terrified, nor will any be missing,” declares the Lord.

He then reads through Ezekiel 34:11-16; For the Lord God says this: “Behold, I Myself will search for My sheep and look after them. As a shepherd cares for his flock on a day when he is among his scattered sheep, so I will care for My sheep and will rescue them from all the places where they were scattered on a cloudy and gloomy day. I will bring them out from the peoples and gather them from the countries and bring them to their own land; and I will feed them on the mountains of Israel, by the streams, and in all the inhabited places of the land. I will feed them in a good pasture, and their grazing place will be on the mountain heights of Israel. There they will lie down in a good grazing place and feed in rich pasture on the mountains of Israel. I Myself will feed My flock and I Myself will lead them to rest,” declares the Lord God. “I will seek the lost, bring back the scattered, bind up the broken, and strengthen the sick; but the fat and the strong I will eliminate. I will feed them with judgment.

He declares that he knows that he and his comrades are part of God’s heart to rescue the lost sheep of Israel, and he thanks his viewers for their prayers and support to make it possible for the ARC to help those civilians who have fled from the terror.

(Day 540) Swords of Iron – “What Color is a Jew?”

Chaim starts out by saying that the IDF is hard at work keeping Israel safe and trying for a quiet weekend, which he says Israel needs in order to recuperate. At the same time, he notes that in Gaza, leaflets were distributed advising the residents to move away from areas that were about to be attacked. There have even been instances when an individual who wasn’t moving out of a building that was about to be struck was called and convinced to leave just before the strike came and destroyed that building. Chaim says this is an example of how the IDF is serious and its warnings should be taken seriously.

(Day 539) Swords of Iron – “Shabbat peace as the storm rages”

The video begins with a montage of combat footage that Chaim has taken before the scene changes to Chaim welcoming in the Sabbath with a group of other soldiers, obviously in battlefield conditions. The Jewish soldiers are all heavily armed and wearing full combat gear, but they are singing, praying and eating the Shabbat meal together just the same.

(Day 538) Swords of Iron – “The Waiting Game”

Chaim starts off by talking about ballistic missile attacks by the Houthis on Jerusalem, and says that as bad as they are, it was much worse before Israel had the Iron Dome and other air defense systems. Chaim also concedes that these systems are very expensive but he mentions the “Iron Beam” laser which will shoot down incoming missiles for a fraction of the cost, and soon everyone will want it.

(Day 537) Swords of Iron – USA Stealth bombers head toward Iran and Yemen

Chaim starts by talking about how the US military is deploying assets to Diego Garcia, a British-owned island in the Indian Ocean which also serves as a major hub for US military operations in the Middle East. Chaim says that all this firepower might soon be unleashed on the Houthis in Yemen, who have no way of defending against it. But the other major target is Iran, and some of their strategic assets are deep underground where even the American mili might have a hard time getting at them. Chaim says that Iran is showing this capability off to the world, clearly hoping to intimidate and discourage the US and Israel rom striking, but that is very unlikely to be successful.
