ARC Israel Updates

Chaim begins by apologizing for being a little hoarse as he is, like so many other IDF soldiers deployed in Gaza, out in the cold, wet winter weather. On that subject, he thanks his viewers for donating money that has allowed the Aliyah Return Center to buy warm winter clothing for many soldiers who needed it.

Next he announces with sadness the death of 19-year-old Uriah Bayer, the son of a Believer family who attended the same congregation as Chaim in the Galilee.

Chaim also announces that a soldier from his unit was killed in action recently.

He also talks about the discovery of a large tunnel in Gaza, designed to conceal assault vehicles as they’re sent out on missions to kill, maim and destroy innocent people. It was designed and built by the brother of Hamas leader Yihya Sinwar and Chaim was part of the unit that initially swept it for booby traps and explosives.

Chaim says this tunnel was a complex structure including electricity lines, water and sewage systems and many other amenities. He gives his professional assessment that it took a fair amount of engineering skill and expertise to build something so complex.

Chaim also mentions the continuing threat to shipping in the Red Sea from the Houthi rebel groups in Yemen. He says that there must be an international coalition put together in order to eliminate this threat to shipping and commerce. He says that Hamas and its allies have become a problem not only for Israel but for the whole world and that threat must be confronted and eliminated.

Chaim then quotes Joshua 1:9, Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”

Next he quotes Jeremiah 20:11; But the Lord is with me as a mighty, awesome One.
Therefore my persecutors will stumble, and will not prevail. They will be greatly ashamed, for they will not prosper. Their everlasting confusion will never be forgotten.

He concludes by thanking his viewers again for their generosity which has allowed the Aliyah Return Center to bless IDF soldiers with many things they need, including barbecues which lift their morale.

(Day 734) Swords of Iron – The hostages are coming home!

Chaim starts by saying that he’s in Jerusalem (wearing civilian clothes) and he is so excited because the deal to release the remaining Israeli hostages held in Gaza has been signed and finalized. The hostages will be able to celebrate at least the last day or maybe two days of Succot, the Feast of Tabernacles.

(Day 731) Swords of Iron – “Where are the hostages?”

Chaim starts by talking about how he’s been mobilized in this war for two years, which is 10% of his adult life, and he’s seen and participated in many of the war’s most well-known campaigns. However, now is a special time because it is the Feast of Tabernacles and it’s time for the people of Israel to build temporary, flimsy structures to remind ourselves of the Exodus from Egypt when God watched over us and protected and provided for us despite the desperately insecure situation we were in.
