ARC Israel Updates

Chaim begins by quoting Psalms 144:2; My lovingkindness and my fortress, my high tower and my deliverer, my shield and the One in whom I take refuge, Who subdues my people under me.

He then says that the Hamas leadership is guilty of using mosques as well as children’s beds, schools, playgrounds, and homes as storage places for weapons. They do this so that these weapons won’t be targeted for destruction by Israel, which they know won’t intentionally target areas where civilians live, worship, work, and play. But Chaim says that despite Hamas’ efforts to hide behind civilians, the IDF is taking out their leaders one by one, finding and eliminating the masterminds behind terrorism against Israel.

The scene switches briefly to an IDF video which explains the efforts made to protect Palestinian civilians in Gaza.

Then Chaim resumes his monologue, mentioning the US-led efforts to protect civilian shipping from attacks by the Iranian-backed Houthi terrorist networks in Yemen. The Red Sea and the Bab al-Mandab are used by ships carrying approximately 15% of the daily tonnage of seaborne, cargo, making freedom of navigation through this area a top priority for the major naval powers. The Houthis are targeting these ships and say they’re doing it to support the Hamas attack on Israel.

Chaim mentions that nations and countries which choose to bless Israel will be blessed and those who choose to curse Israel will be cursed. Chaim says that the Hamas rulers of Gaza chose to curse Israel, and he and his comrades in the IDF are part of the team that is bringing a blessing to Gaza in the form of liberating the people who live there from Hamas’ wicked tyranny.

He concludes by telling a short story about how he and his comrades are mourning their friends who have recently fallen in battle, but they’re no less determined to finish the job they have been given to do of ending Hamas’ threat and restoring security to the people of Israel.

(Day 627) Swords of Iron – “Going Ballistic on Beersheva”

Chaim starts by lamenting the destruction in Ber Sheva that was caused by a last-minute Iranian ballistic missile strike just before the cease-fire went into effect. But, he says, he’s glad to live in a country that cares about its citizens and works hard to protect them, even if sometimes the bad guys land a blow. On that note, Chaim gives some details that are known about what happened in Ber Sheva, including the facts that the missile that struck the building was one of a wave that Iran fired and many more lives could have been lost if people had not been in their bomb shelters.

(Day 625) Swords of Iron – “Kaboom!”

Chaim starts by cheering on the announcement by US President Donald Trump that the US has joined the war against Iran’s nuclear program, defending the free world against one of its most dangerous enemies by destroying the Fordow, Isfahan and Natanz nuclear facilities.

(Day 619) Swords of Iron – “Remember We Didn’t Start This”

Chaim starts by acknowledging that these are difficult times in Israel, with incoming ballistic missiles and drones, cruise missiles and other weapons. Hundreds of people have been rendered homeless and at least 25 have been killed, while many more have been wounded. Israelis have had to run to their bomb shelters on several occasions over the past five days, and sometimes we have to stay there for extended periods, but it’s very important for us to stay safe.
