Update (Day 905) Swords of Iron-Lion’s Roar “No Shortcuts To Victory”
Life—it’s such a beautiful thing.
Standing in a field of wheat, I’m grateful to be among those who defend life, who choose it. Every time we raise a glass, we say l’Chaim, “to life.” Every greeting, every farewell—“shalom,” peace.
And yet this country is under heavy fire. A cluster munition landed in a home attic; sappers were called in. Missiles are falling across industrial zones. A strike hit a hazardous materials site, causing a major leak. People are asking: how long will this take? How long until the head of this terror network—and its tentacles—are removed, so security can return not just here, but to the world?
Because the threats aren’t only local. There are constant calls for “death to Israel, death to America,” even threats reaching as far as California. Reports suggest a possible ground mission may be needed to dismantle critical Iranian capabilities that airstrikes alone can’t destroy. Strategic strikes have already hit major weapons production sites. Reinforcements are arriving. The fight is expanding—but focused.
Meanwhile, civilians continue to suffer. Missiles have struck cities, injuring families, taking lives. Every day, more names are added to the list of those who paid the ultimate price. I think of a 52-year-old killed in recent strikes. I think of immigrants who came here to build a life and instead gave everything defending it.
Up north, units are holding the line—on the borders of Lebanon and Syria, in the mountains and along volatile frontiers—working constantly to prevent further escalation. These are real battles, with real consequences.
And still—I’m grateful to be alive. These weapons are deadly. The explosions are real. But we will win. Battles may shift, but the outcome will not.
Even globally, there are voices standing with Israel, calling for an end to this war and for security to be restored. We are not alone.
And in all of this, I hold onto faith.
Deuteronomy 33 says: “There’s no one like the God of Jeshurun—[that’s the straightforward ones, it’s another name for Israel]—Who rides across the heavens to help you and on the clouds of his majesty. The eternal God is your refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms.”
That promise—that protection—is real right now.
Israel will live in safety. That’s what I believe. And I’m seeing it unfold, even in the midst of all this.
