Update (Day 906) Swords of Iron-Lion’s Roar “Tipping Point of this War”
Definitely a roller coaster. It hasn’t felt like this since World War II. I wasn’t alive then, but it feels like the world is at a tipping point.
This ultimatum may define a new future for the Middle East. Trump’s message to Iran is stark: open the Straits of Hormuz or face devastating strikes on infrastructure—water, electric, everything.
At the same time, Marines are reportedly positioned for a possible ground operation to extract enriched uranium. Imagine being one of those soldiers on the ground.
Trump’s rhetoric isn’t new. In this clip from 1987, he warned that weakness invites war to America’s shores. Today, he echoes similar ideas, speaking about taking control of Iranian oil and even Kharg Island, suggesting it could be done quickly and held if needed.
Meanwhile, thousands of Marines and sailors have already moved into the region. Developments seem to be announced only after they’re underway.
Israel continues striking Hezbollah infrastructure. Netanyahu has made it clear: even if there’s a deal with Iran, there will be no compromise with Hezbollah or tolerance for continued attacks.
Israeli forces are operating in harsh, snow-covered terrain across the Hermon, Mount Dov, and southern Lebanon, working to prevent Hezbollah from rebuilding its capabilities. The group functions not just as a terror organization, but as a broader criminal network, determined to destroy Israel.
It raises a deeper question: why not choose a different path? Beirut was once called the “Casablanca of the Middle East.” Why not return to that?
With reinforcements like the 82nd Airborne arriving, the situation appears to be expanding. Iranian-linked voices are now calling U.S. and Israeli personnel legitimate targets—even in private residences. Civilians are increasingly at risk, though in many ways, they always have been.
Amid all this, it’s important to remember the human cost. Soldiers like 19-year-old Sergeant Lyron Ben Zion, killed in southern Lebanon, are not just headlines. He is one of six lost in the current operation. Others, like Moshe Katz, remind us of the growing toll.
And yet, there are moments that feel like miracles. A mall closed for Shabbat was struck—but no one was inside. The damage was severe, yet lives were spared.
In Be’ersheva, 59 homes were destroyed, displacing nearly 200 people. It could have been far worse.
There are injuries, loss, and uncertainty—but also a sense, for many, of protection and faith.
As Psalms 46 says: “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.”
