Update (Day 915) Swords of Iron-Lion’s Roar “Cease-Fire”
On this seventh day of Passover—a holy day recalling freedom from tyranny and slavery—we reflect on a “second chance” to remember deliverance.
Yet we are still confronting the tyranny of jihadist aggression. Missiles continue to fall; communities in the north and along the coast are under attack. In response, we have struck back decisively, hitting dozens of hostile targets in minutes. The message is clear: enough is enough.
A 2-week ceasefire has now taken effect between the U.S. and Iran. Statements suggest potential regime change, an end to uranium enrichment, and the dismantling of deeply buried nuclear infrastructure. Still, skepticism remains. Can such commitments be trusted? Their claims of their offensive actions being merely “defensive operations” ring hollow as they target our civilians en masse.
According to Iranian officials, attacks will cease if strikes against Iran stop, and a temporary two-week window will allow safe passage through the Strait of Hormuz. Negotiations—reportedly involving U.S. and Iranian representatives—may extend this truce. At the same time, warnings have been issued: any country supplying weapons to Iran could face severe economic consequences.
Israel, for its part, joined the ceasefire at the last moment, even as we completed a rapid wave of strikes against militant infrastructure in Lebanon, including rocket launchers aimed at civilian areas. The commitment remains unchanged: any violation will be met with a firm response. Defense is not optional; it is essential.
This moment raises difficult questions. Is this ceasefire a genuine step toward stability, or a pause before further escalation? History urges caution. Over decades, Iranian-backed networks have fueled violence across the region and beyond—from hostage crises and bombings to proxy wars and terror campaigns on multiple continents. These patterns cannot be ignored or erased overnight.
Structurally, Iran’s decentralized command—spread across its provinces—means operations can persist even without central leadership. Like an octopus with many arms, its reach is resilient and difficult to fully contain. Lasting change would require not only external pressure but internal transformation.
We cannot simply “move on” without accountability. The same regime has inflicted suffering not only abroad but also on its own people. Any path forward must reckon with that reality.
As Passover reminds us, freedom is fragile and must be defended. Even on a day meant for rest, vigilance remains necessary. Israel stands ready to protect its people while hoping this pause becomes something more enduring.
“He calms the storm, so that its waves are still” (Psalm 107:29).
The hope now is that this moment leads not just to quiet, but to a genuine turning point.
