Update (Day 926) Swords of Iron-Lion’s Roar “Consecutive Miracles”
It’s always hard to come to hospitals—to hear the ambulances, to see people carried in on stretchers. During today’s video update I’m at Rambam Medical Center, on the shores of Haifa. You hear the whir of helicopter blades, the sirens, the soldiers arriving. I’m standing outside.
Friends, this Memorial Day I want to talk not only about the fallen soldiers, whom we will remember, visit their graves, and honor those who paid the ultimate price for this country as we mark 78 years of consecutive miracles.
In southern Lebanon, it’s been a difficult time. The enemy keeps trying, releasing propaganda videos—drone footage of striking our vehicles, like the Humvee hit a few days ago—to spread fear. But they won’t succeed. We are not afraid. They see smoke and call it victory, but there’s another side. That vehicle carried heavy weapons and explosives—those inside should have died. But they didn’t. I just visited one of my brothers in the hospital.
The enemy thinks they can win, but if they understood how strong—diamond-strong—this country is, how quickly we recover and return to the fight, they would know: we will never let them win. They will not terrorize the north or force us to back down.
That vehicle was torn apart by a suicide drone, yet our men—the diamonds of Israel—are recovering. For 78 years, this road has been forged through fire and pressure, like a diamond. Every soldier knows what it takes. That’s what it means to be Israeli.
The enemy may highlight hardship, but it only sharpens our resolve. The threat from the north—Hezbollah—must be removed so our families can live in peace. We are not giving up.
And remember the wounded—not only the 25,644 who have fallen in defense of this land, even before the modern state was founded. Pray for the injured. Acknowledge them as heroes. Victory is carried by each of these men and women. When you visit them, you see strength—quiet, smiling, determined. They are my brothers and sisters.
We move from mourning at gravesides for Memorial Day to celebration of Independence the very next Day. That transition is never easy. Generation to generation, we carry the torch, standing united through every trial and against all odds.
Thank you for believing in the promise of Zechariah 10:5; “They will be mighty in battle, for the Lord is with them—watching over His land without sleep or rest.”
