Day 293 Swords of Iron – “Netanyahu’s Speech”

Chaim starts by saying that when you see a report on TV about the combat in Gaza, it’s hard to envision what it’s like. He tries to give a short description and then gives up, saying he has to write a book about it someday.

But in the meantime, he says that wants to talk about all the Hamas rockets that are fired at Israel but which fall inside the Gaza Strip. He says this phenomenon is barely being reported on anywhere, but it’s actually the cause of many of the civilian casualties in this current conflict.

Next he mentions the story about the IDF recovering the remains of five hostages who were kidnapped into the Gaza Strip on October 7th, 2023. Their bodies were brought into Gaza so that Hamas could use them in negotiations with Israel. But now they have been recovered and returned to their families who can finally have a funeral and some closure.

Next he switches to talking about the speech Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu made before a joint session of the US Congress on Thursday morning. Chaim was very impressed by the speech and he invites his viewers to leave a comment to say what they thought about it.

Chaim says when Netanyahu spoke about the people of Israel “rising up like lions” it reminded him of Genesis 49:8-9; “Judah, you are he whom your brothers shall praise; Your hand shall be on the neck of your enemies; Your father’s children shall bow down before you. Judah is a lion’s whelp; From the prey, my son, you have gone up. He bows down, he lies down as a lion; and as a lion, who shall rouse him?

Chaim also mentions the intense hatred that was on display among those who were protesting against Netanyahu’s visit. They broke into the hotel where the Israeli delegation was staying to release maggots and other insects, even placing them on the table where the meals were supposed to be served. They tore down US flags and burned them, replacing them with Palestinian flags on the display platforms. They did many really outrageous things, and they seem to be getting more outrageous.

But Chaim says that no matter how evil the opposition acts, the good guys will rally to overcome them.

In this context, he mentions that Netanyahu declared to the US Congress that “our fight is your fight” and he he says this is absolutely true. He mentions that he’s fought in Israel’s wars of the past 20 years, but this is different. This is a global conflict between opposing camps, and the kinetic battles in Gaza are just one part of it.

Chaim also mentions a recent advisory opinion rendered by the International Court of Justice in the Hague saying that the Israeli communities in Judea and Samaria, as well as the eastern neighborhoods of Jerusalem, are illegal under international law.

Chaim says he believes a time is coming when there will no longer be any patience for this evil and deciet. People will stand up for truth and righteousness.

In this context he quotes Psalms 107:28; Then they cry out to the Lord in their trouble, and He brings them out of their distresses.

(Day 761) Swords of Iron – “Lebanon, cast terror out!”

Chaim starts by saying that he was in Lebanon recently and the jihadists of Hezbollah have not learned their lesson. They’re continuing to rearm, reorganize and prepare to take another shot at Israel, despite the pounding they received in the campaign a year ago this month. The Lebanese National Army is also not doing what it’s supposed to do in disarming Hezbollah. So the IDF now has to go back into Lebanon in a big way and take care of business.

(Day 760) Swords of Iron – ”Inevitable”

Chaim starts by saying that it’s kind of satisfying to see the inevitable destruction of the tunnels and other terrorist infrastructure in Gaza and southern Lebanon. Chaim says that the wicked might prosper for a season, but the righteous always prevail in the end.

(Day 759) Swords of Iron – “Iraq Next?“

Chaim starts by saying things are not really calming down right now, despite the “ceasefire” in Gaza. There are reports that Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps is arming and training the Badr Brigades and other Shi’ite militias in Iraq for a move against Israel in the future, and they’re also continuing to arm and fund Hezbollah in Lebanon, although not with the same level of support they’re giving to the Iraqi militias.
