Day 300 Swords of Iron – “It Has Begun”

Chaim starts by reminding his viewers that he has been deployed in his IDF unit since the war began on October 7th, 2023, and he’s spent a lot of his time in Gaza looking for the hostages that were kidnapped into the Strip on that horrible day.

But, he says, now things have escalated sharply and it could be the beginning of something really big, possibly even WWIII. He says that the US Navy has increased the deployment of ships in and around the Middle East, but Israelis are bracing for what Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu warned could be “very difficult days ahead.”

This is because Iran is threatening to launch a massive assault against Israel following the assassination of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh in Teheran and Hezbollah leader Fuad Shukr in Beruit over the past few days.

Both of these men had long careers in terrorism and Shukr had a $5 million price on his head from the US State Department for his many crimes, going back to the bombing of the US Marine barracks in Beruit in 1983.

But everyone is on edge right now, waiting to see what happens next. Some airlines have stopped flying to Israel and/or Lebanon, while Israel is considering all the options for a pre-emptive strike on their enemies. Sheik Hassan Nasrallah, the leader of Hezbollah, is threatening that Israel will never know where a strike against it might come from, the east, west, north of south. Chaim says that Nasrallah should be careful because a strike against him could come from any direction as well.

In any case, Chaim asks his viewers to increase their prayers for Israel because this situation is very unstable and could end very badly. He says that he’s in the Galilee right now, and rockets are being fired into the region non-stop from Lebanon.

He says that many residents have stocked their bomb shelters with food and other emergency supplies, and this feels like “go time.”

He concludes by asking his viewers to read Psalms 83 with him.

Do not keep silent, O God! Do not hold Your peace, and do not be still, O God! For behold, Your enemies make a tumult; ad those who hate You have lifted up their head. They have taken crafty counsel against Your people, ad consulted together against Your sheltered ones. They have said, “Come, and let us cut them off from being a nation, tat the name of Israel may be remembered no more.”

For they have consulted together with one consent; They form a confederacy against You: The tents of Edom and the Ishmaelites; Moab and the Hagrites; Gebal, Ammon, and Amalek; hilistia with the inhabitants of Tyre; Assyria also has joined with them; Tey have helped the children of Lot. Selah

Deal with them as with Midian, a with Sisera, as with Jabin at the Brook Kishon, Who perished at En Dor, who became as refuse on the earth.

Make their nobles like Oreb and like Zeeb, yes, all their princes like Zebah and Zalmunna, who said, “Let us take for ourselves the pastures of God for a possession.”

O my God, make them like the whirling dust, like the chaff before the wind! As the fire burns the woods, and as the flame sets the mountains on fire, So pursue them with Your tempest, and frighten them with Your storm. Fill their faces with shame, that they may seek Your name, O Lord. Let them be confounded and dismayed forever;  Yes, let them be put to shame and perish, that they may know that You, whose name alone is the Lord, are the Most High over all the earth.

(Day 734) Swords of Iron – The hostages are coming home!

Chaim starts by saying that he’s in Jerusalem (wearing civilian clothes) and he is so excited because the deal to release the remaining Israeli hostages held in Gaza has been signed and finalized. The hostages will be able to celebrate at least the last day or maybe two days of Succot, the Feast of Tabernacles.

(Day 731) Swords of Iron – “Where are the hostages?”

Chaim starts by talking about how he’s been mobilized in this war for two years, which is 10% of his adult life, and he’s seen and participated in many of the war’s most well-known campaigns. However, now is a special time because it is the Feast of Tabernacles and it’s time for the people of Israel to build temporary, flimsy structures to remind ourselves of the Exodus from Egypt when God watched over us and protected and provided for us despite the desperately insecure situation we were in.
