Day 325 Swords of Iron – “Finishing the race well”

Chaim starts the video with the eponymous statement that it’s important to finish well. He cites examples of people who fail to finish well, like a runner who twists their ankle and falls just before crossing the finish line, or a motorist who crashes their car just minutes away from their home.

He says that this applies to the IDF’s efforts in Gaza. He says that there is still a lot of work to do there, especially in the city of Rafah. He says that some in Israel’s defense establishment believe the war is all but over, but Chaim says that this might be premature. In this context, he quotes Ecclesiastes 9:11; I again saw under the sun that the race is not to the swift and the battle is not to the warriors, and neither is bread to the wise nor wealth to the discerning nor favor to men of ability; for time and chance overtake them all.

He also quotes Deuteronomy 20:1-4; “When you go out to battle against your enemies and see horses and chariots and people more numerous than you, do not be afraid of them; for the Lord your God, who brought you up from the land of Egypt, is with you. When you are approaching the battle, the priest shall come near and speak to the people. He shall say to them, ‘Hear, O Israel, you are approaching the battle against your enemies today. Do not be fainthearted. Do not be afraid, or panic, or tremble before them, for the Lord your God is the one who goes with you, to fight for you against your enemies, to save you.’

Chaim says that although this war is almost over, the struggle continues and the battle for the truth and against the lies of the enemy also continues.

The video concludes with a look at the Aliyah Return Center which is preparing to play its part in fulfilling Israel’s national destiny going forward.

(Day 484) Swords of Iron – “Home sweet Home”

Chaim starts out by saying that the hostage release mechanism that is part of a broader cease-fire deal between Israel and Hamas in the Gaza Strip is difficult to accept, since it includes the release of so many high-profile terrorists from Israeli prisons. It is also difficult to watch the barbaric conditions under which some of the Israeli hostages are being released.
