Day 341 Swords of Iron – “911 – Calling for Global Unity against terror ”
Chaim starts out by talking about the terrorist attacks against the US on September 11th, 2001 and he compares this to the attacks against Israel on October 7th, 2023. He says that the civilized world must unite in their efforts to push back against this terrorism and this darkness.
He remembers that for a short time after these attacks, there was unity, and it must be maintained.
He then recalls some of the facts and figures from the September 11th attacks, and some of the images from that day play on the screen. He talks about all the police, firefighters and ordinary people who were killed by these attacks.
This led to the US changing its policies in the Middle East and more generally internationally.
There was an unprecedented spirit of unity among the American people in the weeks and months after that event. There was also a large-scale response against terrorism by many other countries in what was still called “the free world” back then.
Skip ahead to October 7th 2023, when Israel suffered a cruel terrorist attack that included murder, rape, mutilation, and other horrific and barbaric acts.
Israel called on these terrorists to be condemned, but not everyone wanted to condemn them. Israel mobilized and fought back, and the condemnations of Israel began to pour in from everywhere. This time, the “free world” did not rally to the cause of defending freedom and decency against barbarism and terror. Chaim says this must change, and quickly, so that the world does not have to enter a new Dark Age.
In this context, he quotes Psalms 91:5-7; You shall not be afraid of the terror by night, nor of the arrow that flies by day, Nor of the pestilence that walks in darkness, nor of the destruction that lays waste at noonday. A thousand may fall at your side, and ten thousand at your right hand; But it shall not come near you.
He also quotes Isaiah 54:17; No weapon formed against you shall prosper, and every tongue which rises against you in judgment you shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their righteousness is from Me,” Says the Lord.
